Farm stay

You will be welcomed to our grand old character house and garden that evokes a gracious lifestyle of a bygone era. The house is set on 6 Ha of 150 Ha of Masterton farmland and is headquarters for a much larger sheep and cattle farm and I still do some farm work. We love meeting people, are international in outlook and want to provide you with a great memorable stay in the Wairarapa. The space Guests are welcome to enjoy our gardens and relax in the shade under mature trees or enjoy the goldfish pond and fountain. There is also a large old gazebo in the garden. The BBQ and solar heated saltwater swimming pool are also available for guests to enjoy in the summer months. The house is in a quiet rural location with Tararua mountain range views and surrounded by farm grazing land. The furnishings complement the character of the house and include Persian rugs, paintings, a piano, and billiards table. Our home has a small library of books to read by the log fire on cozy winter days. We have pet farm animals, dogs and cats. You may wish to greet some of our curious and friendly farm pets. Wool is a major by-product of our farm, and we take great delight in being able to demonstrate to you home craft processing of fleece wool from our own sheep into a finished garment. At Estancia there are four guest-only bathrooms. Two of these bathrooms are adjacent ensuites, another is down the hall from guest rooms and a fourth is downstairs. Guests do not share bathrooms unless a larger group books more than than four guest rooms. Tea and coffee and microwave are available in our kitchen. We also provide a separate refrigerator for guest use. Guest access Guests have access to the house dining room, sitting room, billiards room, and library book collection. During your stay We will be at the house during your stay and be available to answer queries or to socialise. Other things to note We provide a continental breakfast, buffet style with a selection of cereals, mueslis, fruits, natural yogurt, cream and milk, jams, spreads, and bread. Please let us know if there are any special dietary requirements. Tea and coffee and a Microwave are available in our Kitchen.
