Island of Giannutri – Cala Maestra

Independent house, a two-minute walk from Cala Maestra beach and 10 minutes from Cala Spalmatoio and the square. It is located in a large garden with a beautiful view. For luggage transport from the marina to the house, you can contact the person with the tractor who is always present at the landing (the cost of this service is around 2 euros per bag). Same for the return: the person in charge must be contacted on the morning of departure and will collect your luggage in the early afternoon and deliver it to the ferry for the departure time (generally around 4 p.m.). The list of useful phone numbers will be available to guests at the house. Other things to note Camping, bicycles and means of transportation are prohibited on the island. You can reach the island by ferry from Porto Santo Stefano where you can leave your car in one of the paid parking lots near the port (indicative daily cost 10 euros). Starting April 30, the ferry leaves on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m. and departs from Giannutri around 4 p.m. Only on Fridays does it leave at 3:00 pm and depart from Giannutri immediately after landing. On Tuesdays and Thursdays there is no ferry. However, it is advisable to always Maregiglio to check the timetables, which may change according to weather conditions, and to book the trip by declaring the number of bags. It is also possible to reach the island by private taxi. During the winter, the ferry only runs on Wednesdays and Saturdays, departing from Porto Santo Stefano at 10 am. Respect for the land and sea park is very important. On the island there is a grocery store open only in the summer months (indicatively from early June to late August) with basic necessities and fresh fruit and vegetables. You can order any food for the next day by contacting a person in charge on the island. There is also a bar, a pizzeria and a restaurant. Another thing to know is that the water on the island is not drinkable. It can safely be used for cooking and washing, but not for drinking. You can order it before arrival, or bring it with you.
