The Poets Cottage offers a relaxing and inspiring getaway. Featuring a kitchen and spacious dining area, its open plan feel is warm and inviting. Natural timber beams give the living area a natural extension of the surrounding bush land. There are two verandahs to choose from, one of them is fenced in with a BBQ. The space Pilliga Pottery Creative Farmstay is a working Australian farm and also home of the famous Pilliga Pottery and Blue Wren Cafe. The Cafe is open from 8am - 4pm, 7 days a week. Limited services on Wednesday. Dinner by arrangement only. Guests can get involved feeding the pet farm animals, toasting marshmallows by the fire or walking any number of the 50km bushwalking tracks across the 12,000 acre farm. We are dog friendly (Max. of 2 dogs). Please see our pet policy. Extra charge of $10 per pet per stay. The Pottery offers free hands-on clay play as well as paid pottery classes. You can book classes online at our website. The farm also has an in-ground swimming pool, volleyball court, playground for young children and ample room for ball sports. There is no cell-phone reception on the majority of the farm. Intermittent reception can be found on some of the bushwalking tracks. Limited Wifi is available in your accommodation and stronger WiFi is available in the onsite cafe and pottery studio. Guest access To access the property, guests need to travel down a 10km all-weather dirt road which can get a bit bumpy due to corrugations and potholes, but it all adds to the farm experience. Make sure to follow our map, the GPS is not always right and could send you down the wrong road. We are located just 35km North of Coonabarabran. You have access to the whole property, however, be mindful of any areas marked 'private'. Our farm offers many bush walks and we have livestock (cows, horses and sheep) which you can find when venturing on a walk. We also have pet animals to visit and feeding of these in the afternoon every day. Other things to note There are lots of Bush walks available on site. -- Pet Policy -- We love animals of all description and respect that people like to travel with their pets. To that end, all our guesthouses are pet friendly. Our policy is simple: - You must provide bedding for your pet. Pets must be house trained. - Pets must remain off furniture, carpet and rugs. We will charge up to $100 additional cleaning fee if necessary. - You are responsible for protecting our native wildlife and farm animals against the predatory nature of your pets. - You are responsible for any damage caused by your pets. - You are responsible for cleaning up after your pets. Make sure no droppings are left in behind on our lawns and gardens. - Dogs are not allowed inside the Cafe and the pool area. To protect our native birds, cats must remain inside the guesthouses unless restrained by you. Dogs must be on a lead at all times while walking around the property, unless contained in your guesthouse/yard. -- Additional Cleaning Fee -- General cleaning is included in the booking price when you stay with us. However, if the accommodation is left in an excessively dirty condition, or if there are stains on carpets, couches, bedding, or other furnishings, an additional cleaning fee will apply. The amount of this fee will be determined based on the extent of the extra cleaning required. We assess each situation individually and will communicate any applicable charges with you. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a clean and comfortable environment for all guests. -- Damage Policy -- We kindly ask all guests to treat our accommodation with care and respect. If any damage occurs during your stay—whether accidental or intentional—you may be held financially responsible for repair or replacement costs. This includes, but is not limited to, damage to furniture, walls, appliances, fixtures, or any other part of the property. Please notify us immediately if any damage happens so we can assess and address it promptly. Failure to report damage may result in additional charges.
