Placerville - Sunny house with big yard, private

We rent out our own home when we are gone. It's a short drive to Telluride, about 12 miles and 18 to 20 minutes to Mountain Village. Enjoy film festivals, music festivals and the Blues Festival. We have fast internet - Starlink. We have a puppy that's on the property. She does not go upstairs and has never been in the bedrooms (dogs seem to be afraid of the spiral stairs) and has not been on the carpets, but has been in my office. The space Our house is private and close to world-class skiing, concerts, and other events in Telluride. It's bright, spacious and perfect for a small family or couple. In summer, enjoy great fly-fishing in the San Miguel river. We have a large driveway suitable for RV parking, or a trailer if you're bringing your toys. Enter via a mud-room / airlock entry, into a large, open living area with vaulted ceilings and a sunny deck. Prepare your meal in our full kitchen, with refrigerator, stove and eating area next to the living room. There is a washer/dryer for your use. The outdoor deck has a fire pit and a BBQ for you. Our kitchen has granite countertops, a dishwasher, a gas stove, a full-size refrigerator, tea kettle, coffee maker, and everything you need. The bedrooms are upstairs at the top of a spiral staircase. One bedroom has a queen bed, and glass doors to an east-facing deck. The second bedroom has a full size futon, a single bed, and a large closet. The upstairs full bath has a shower/ tub combination and we supply towels, soap or body wash, and shampoo. The stairs are not safe for young children as the rails are 12" apart, and the upper baluster is 34" tall, so the opening is 11.5" by 34", which a child could fall through. The stairs may also be too steep for someone with recent leg surgery, and are best with smaller luggage. On the main level, a second full bath has a large walk-in shower. There's a 65" smart TV in the living room. We have a big yard with many trees and birds. We're only 20 minutes from town, but it feels like a different world - it's about 2,000 feet lower, warmer, and a restful place to sleep if the altitude bothers you in Telluride. Our kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, dishes, and utensils. We supply tea and real coffee (with a coffee maker), sugar, salt and pepper, some spices, and a few cooking basics such as oil and vinegar. In summer, we'll have a gas BBQ on the deck. We have internet and a 65" HD TV - it's a smart TV, so you can watch U-tube, and other movies if you have an account with Netflix or Hula. We do NOT have cable TV, but you can watch movies with your own subscription to Netflix. The washer and dry are in the laundry area which also doubles as a mud-room to the exterior. From the house, in summer you can walk to the San Miguel River across from highway 145. We're close to the Down valley park on the river, which has hiking trails around the lake, swimming, and a large grassy area to play soccer. No pets, please. Dogs can't make it up the spiral staircase - one dog owner explained that they cannot see that there are solid stairs between the open railing. NO hot tub! We bought the house with an old tub, but it leaked and it's gone now. Our own bedroom and bath are locked off in a different section of the house, and we will NOT be at the house when guests visit. We can meet you to show you around if you arrive early in the day. Guest access You'll have full use of the kitchen, dining area, living room, and outdoor decks with a BBQ. We have a sunny, private back deck by the back yard for relaxing. Other things to note In winter, you need 4WD and snow tires if it has snowed. Our house is on Trunk road, a private road, and it's the second house from Hwy. 145. There is a berm on the uphill road that you need 4WD to cross this berm when snowy or icy in winter. The spiral staircase up to the guest bedrooms is narrow, and not suitable for children less than about 3' tall, as they could fall and slip between the stair rails. They are not the easiest stairs for carrying up luggage. You can leave skis in the laundry area, and leave boots downstairs near the wood stove. We have a TV with WiFi, and with access to Netflix ( if you have an account) and UTube. This neighborhood is quiet and not suitable for excessive partying. Our neighbor is director of the San Miguel planning department, and wild parties could cause problems! Quiet hours are from 10pm. Sorry, but pets are not allowed. Dogs can't get up the stairs in any case - two dogs, my son's, and a friend's have refused to climb the stairs.
