Description
Chill in our 17th Century Pink cottage, the home of two artists. Self contained with its own private entrance. Pets are welcome. Set in the hamlet of Sprytown, a short drive to Dartmoor, lots of walks, 2 pubs and a farmshop only a short drive away. One double bed, and a sofa bed, for two people or a small family. The bathroom has a walk in shower and a roll top bath. A kitchen area with hot plate, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Plus room with sink & drainer and washing machine . The space A totally self contained apartment area with own entrance. Enter through the front door using a key from the key safe. Offering a large bedroom on left, with a double bed and sofa bed. A dramatic fireplace and grate. TV and internet. A bistro table and chairs are placed in the hall looking on to a small kitchen, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, crockery, cutlery, kettle, hotplate, microwave and toaster. There is a large bathroom on the left with with walk in shower, roll top bath, toilet and sink. There is also a small room off the kitchen area for food prep with a sink and drainer and a washing machine airer, vacuum cleaner, mop and bucket and other cleaning essentials. You have use of the front garden area, with a bench and table, with a pretty view of the cottage. You can use the main garden, note there is a tiny stream in the lower garden and a footbridge to a small orchard. The garden is a little wild and rambling. There is also a small pond in the garden, hidden in the trees near the studio, children must be supervised at all times. The seated area by the back door, at the rear of the cottage and the art studio, are restricted areas not available for guest use. There is plenty of parking for cars at the rear courtyard of house. Guest access Check yourself in with key safe. Other things to note Brambles Cottage was built in the 1650’s it is a grade two listed cottage. Originally three workers cottages belonging to the Hayne Manor Estate. We refurbished and restored the cottage twenty years ago. We are two artists and teachers, we host painting holidays at the house and artist studio in the garden. There are three local pubs in the nearby village of Lifton. The Arundell Arms, the Lifton Hall Hotel, and The Fox and Grapes. All serve good food. Just a little further towards Launceston is Strawberry Fields farm shop. It has a restaurant, home grown vegetables, a bakery and a butchers. There is also local shop in the centre of Lifton that sells newspapers, all basic provisions and has a card machine and a post office. There is a small petrol station in Tinhay, this is situated in the village just before you reach LIfton.
