Haltwhistle is only a few miles down the main road and has numerous local independent shops, eateries and takeaways as well as small supermarkets. Local bus transportation is easily accessed from the bus stop on the A69, with a small number running through Greenhead itself and the mainline train stops at Haltwhistle.
