The property is the annexe of a 150-year old ‘tharavadu’ (aka ancestral home) - beautifully restored with modern amenities. The property is located in the quaint little village of Aymanam, on the banks of the Meenachil river. Come, stay with us and enjoy the serene space with its greenery and the many birds that visit our fruit trees or walk over and relax on the banks of the river (a short 50m walk within the estate). The space We offer you a quiet and serene environment away from the hustle and bustle of the main town and its busy roads. The famed backwaters of Kumarakom are just around 8 kms away and Kottayam town itself just around 5 kms away. Our property also makes a great base from which you can easily access other places of tourist interest in Kerala like Aleppey, Munnar, Thekkady and Fort Kochi. Guest access The cottage has two bedrooms and this listing is for one of the two bed rooms. In addition to the room/s you rent, you will also have access to a living space, a well-equipped kitchenette and the long verandah. I would also be happy to give you a tour of the 150-year old main house where I live and the surrounding estate with its fruit trees, exotic spices and other cash crops and explain the rich history and flora/fauna of the estate. Other things to note You will have access to the well-equipped kitchenette if you'd like to prepare any food for yourself or the children. Breakfast is included in the package.
