Manoir du Bois Joly – Shepherd's huts

The "Bois Joly" Manor dates from the 16th century. Next to Nogent-le-Rotrou, it is in the middle of fields, meadows and woods. In the 19th century, it became known for its breeding of Percheron horses. Since 1985, we have been restoring it in keeping with the traditional architecture of Perche. To share this fascinating story, the Shepherd's Huts welcome you! Departure possible on Sunday at the end of the day on request! The space For an unusual night, the "shepherd's hut" area has three huts for three people! The first hut comes from the Dreux region. This is the largest of these unusual accommodations. With its 140 cm x 190 cm convertible bed, it can accommodate a person or a couple. Converted into a sofa, it's a great place for dinner or lunch. The small table can even allow you to work in a cocoon surrounded by nature! Equipped with electricity and plenty of storage space, this tree house transports you to the privacy of the shepherds of yesteryear. When it was still in use, a wood-burning stove heated the room. We decided to install one to recall this little-known history of the Perche transhumance… The second cabin comes from Thymerais, in the north of Perche. Today, this unusual rudimentary habitat is made for one person, adult or child. It has a sitting area with two benches and various storage spaces (cupboards, shelves). Connected to electricity, you have a wall light for lighting and an outlet. For sleeping, the single bed is 80 x 190 cm. The outdoor dog niches have remained as they were originally, with their fastening systems… The third shepherd's hut is typical of the Beauce region, the "breadbasket of France". To drop off your luggage and belongings, it's an ideal shelter! For the record, this cabin was given to us by a great friend, Serge… A kitchen area as well as bathrooms with showers and toilets are available near the accommodation! Other things to note Pool: Given the climatic constraints, water restrictions and maintenance of the pool, access to the pool is limited. We have organized a system of shared schedules for each of the accommodations: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Gîte du Fournil. 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Roulottes & Cabanes de berger 3pm to 5pm: Gîte du Fournil. 6pm to 7pm: Roulottes & Cabanes de berger These schedules are a base. They can of course be flexible according to everyone's requests and weather constraints. Only ten people can swim at the same time, children are under the supervision of their parents.
