Historic Garden Cottage: Special

Our charming and quiet, one bedroom historic cottage reflects a comfortable getaway! It is located in the heart of historic Tomales, 3 miles from the ocean and is adjacent to Tomales Bay and nearby Point Reyes National Seashore. Great for strolling, hiking, kayaking, bicycling, and just resting & relaxing. The space Marinette, situated in the historic village of Tomales, Ca, is a historic cottage at the edge of town and offers a welcome and private retreat for visitors and travelers to scenic Northwest Marin County. Tomales has a rich social and architectural heritage and is surrounded by open hills and agriculture, most of which is protected into perpetuity by Marin Agricultural Land Trust. If you are seeking 'a home away from home' base that offers rest and relaxation, and the sounds of birds, village life, church bells on Sunday, and an occasional cow mooing, you have found the right space. We are currently using enhanced cleaning guidelines to make your stay more comfortable during the pandemic. We welcome you to Marinette, Historic Garden Cottage. Guest access Linens provided, queen sleigh bed with pillow top mattress, cotton blankets & optional down comforter inside cotton duvet; , double futon convertible couch to bed with 4" organic wool mattress & cotton bedding. Extra pillows. Bathroom has step-over tiled shower with shower products; liquid soap at sink with large mirror; hairdryer & body lotion. Extra amenities in linen closet. Kitchen is equipped with stove top (no conventional oven), microwave oven, mini-refrigerator (sorry, no freezer), coffee maker, and toaster. All cookware and utensils are provided for your needs. Organic teas for your drinking pleasure. Basic kitchen condiments available. WiFi internet is available with newly installed wifi extension device that now provides reliable internet reception; a Bose system for radio with a selection of CDs. Water is from our private well that is regularly tested. There are no toxic chemicals & no industrial runoff into our deep underground water table. As of 9/22/25, we have upgraded our well to include an ultra-violet disinfectant device & a filter for minerals. This is a rural, unincorporated, historic village with no centralized water system. Please conserve water.. We do have a village sewer plant so water & waste are pumped there for treatment & then irrigated on surrounding pastures a few miles away. A Short-term Rental Ordinance is now in effect in West Marin and it can be read in the cottage guidebook. The village of Tomales is in the coastal zone & we realize many visitors want to spend time exploring this beautiful and rural coastal setting. We welcome you here in Tomales during your stay! Other things to note Special Rates include: $230 per night for weekends (Friday and Saturday) and holidays. $200 per night Weekdays (Sunday and Monday) $1045 one week special (seven days) *All prices are subject to West Marin County 14% lodging tax and added to each booking. As of July 27, 2019 all bookings will be subject to an additional $25 charge for parties with a third person. We do not approve extra people sleeping on the floor in their sleeping bags/pads. Sorry, we cannot accommodate pets. There is a cleaning charge of $35 per booking for all bookings made after 7/27/2019.
