While the lake itself is closed, the surrounding area still offers plenty to explore: restaurants, shopping, scenic hikes, local wineries, a creamery, and other activities. After a day of adventure, return to the property and unwind under the stars around the cozy fire pit or saltwater pool and spa. The space Escape to this modern rustic open-concept studio, the ultimate retreat for a getaway in the Western North Carolina mountains. Thoughtfully designed with ease and style in mind, it features two queen beds, making it perfect for friends and family gatherings. The interior is warm and inviting, with a comfortable seating area and a convenient coffee cart for those leisurely mornings or late-night conversations. Step outside to the covered front porch, where you can take in the views of the fire pit and garden. It’s the perfect place to sip your coffee, enjoy a good book, or simply soak in the peaceful surroundings. The studio's luxuriously appointed bathroom offers a touch of indulgence, featuring a beautifully tiled walk-in shower with a rain showerhead and shower wand. Apotheke shampoo, conditioner, and bath gel are provided to enhance your stay. The kitchenette is well-equipped to cater to your needs, with a mini fridge and freezer to chill your beverages, an electric kettle for hot drinks, a toaster for quick snacks, and a microwave for easy meal prep. Whether you're making a light bite or enjoying a quiet night in, the kitchenette has you covered. For entertainment, the studio includes a 50” Roku Smart TV and high-speed fiber internet, so you can stream, stay connected, or unwind with your favorite shows. The standout feature of the property is its shared outdoor space, thoughtfully designed to elevate your mountain retreat experience. The communal areas offer plenty of opportunity to connect and recharge. Gather around the propane fire pit to share stories of your day’s adventures. For those who enjoy cooking and dining outdoors, we have a propane grill and a Blackstone flat top. The shared patio includes custom concrete bar tops and dining tables. When it’s time to fully relax, head to the saltwater pool and spa. Lounge poolside, enjoy a refreshing dip, or treat yourself to a soak in the spa as you take in the surrounding views. The saltwater pool and spa is open year-round 9AM to dusk—both offering a refreshing way to reset after a day of exploring. Whether you’re here to explore or slow down, the property strikes the perfect balance between thoughtful design, mountain charm, and natural beauty. It’s secluded yet accessible, offering both privacy and the chance to connect with fellow travelers. Guest access The cottage is your private retreat. You will also have access to the shared fire pit, grill and outdoor dining area. The saltwater pool and heated salt water spa are also shared with fellow guests. There is dedicated parking for two vehicles if needed. Other things to note We do have an additional five rental cabins on-site. The saltwater pool and spa are open year-round from 9AM to dusk. The pool is not heated. The spa can be heated—just let us know anytime you’d like to use it. We observe quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. While you don't have to head indoors during this time, we would like to ask that you keep noise to a respectful level for the enjoyment of all guests. This helps ensure a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere for everyone.
