Each season at Wing & A Prayer Farm will restore & reset your pace. Situated on a working fiber farm, there are a variety of sheep, goats, alpacas, miniature donkeys, an American Guinea hog named "Princess Peppermint", and poultry-aplenty that decorate the landscape. The privacy of your own shady-glade & glimpses into farm life make this getaway just right. Comfortable, authentic farm coziness with traditional conveniences supports travelers from all walks. The comfortable, clean and spacious bedrooms next to a glade on the west side of the main house offer an opportunity to relax in privacy while you're traveling through the Green Mountain State or nearby Upstate New York. We're 50 minutes from Saratoga Springs, one hour from Rutland and Brattleboro, Vermont, and half an hour from the Berkshires. The kitchen is a Kitchenette and is very limited. It is a good space to toast bread, warm up dishes in the microwave, make coffee, tea, etc.. the fridge and sink are tiny! There is a microwave, coffee maker, electric kettle and toaster oven. The two main bedrooms are comfortable and if you have extra guests and want to use the rollaway beds, they will fit, though it will be ‘full!’ Just an FYI if you are trying to imagine the space. Please review our photo gallery or send us a note if you have a question about the space. Folks love our pool! Guests can use laundry, attached to bathroom, inground pool on side deck of main house & side yard by Farm Suite entrance. Garage parking available, arranged with owner, weather depending. Farm tours can be arranged to view barn and farm animals in their paddocks and garden with farmer-manager. While you're staying at the farm, you'll be able to park and relax out of the traffic of our production, with ambient sounds of birdsong, crickets and peepers to help you unwind. You'll be privy to the background sights and signature songs of our roosters, our ducks and geese quacking, the miniature donkeys braying, flock conversations, pups and kitties - the farm has it's own ongoing dialogue. Farmer Tammy will be available by phone during your stay and are usually working on the farm from sun-up to sun-down. Arrangements can be made for farm tours (see NOTE below) and special events through separate reservations, but your comfort and questions are a priority. NOTE: The farm is a working farm. (Imagine if we came to your workplace and stayed there. It’s the same scenario.) The farmer and any helpers she may have working are on a schedule and so while we love sharing with guests, we prefer to schedule that so that we can organize accordingly. While we love the thought of indulging well-intentioned guests that want to help, it is actually more work. So do not be offended if we are not able to take advantage of your offers! Sometimes it works out to provide more ‘experience’ while you are here, but sometimes, for scheduling or safety or animal’s best interests, it doesn’t. The comfortable, clean and spacious bedrooms next to a glade on the west side of the main house offer an opportunity to relax in privacy while you're traveling through the Green Mountain State or nearby Upstate New York. We're 1/2 an hour from major ski resorts such as Stratton, Bromley, Magic Mountain & Mount Snow. We're one hour from Albany, NY, Rutland and Brattleboro, Vermont, and half an hour from the Berkshires. North Bennington, Bennington, Arlington & Manchester, Vermont are in our backyard and you'll find dining and shopping aplenty, ranging from antiques & fly-fishing to pottery, bookstores or brand-name outlets. Williamstown and North Adams, MA are half an hour to 40 minutes drive south and offer arts museums, theater and more. We are a 50 minute drive from Saratoga Springs, in nearby New York State, which is home to the Saratoga Performing Arts Center as well as the Saratoga Race Track. The rural location of Wing & A Prayer Farm means that access to public transportation is limited. We drive a car with all wheel drive and that serves us well on our dirt road. There is a local bus, the Green Mountain Express, providing service to as far south as Williamstown, MA and north to Manchester, VT. There is limited Uber transport and taxi service. Our farm house's adjacent inground pool is closed for the season.
