The Muskoka River Homestead

This year round home away from home on the Muskoka River is a perfect getaway for a large family or group of friends. Enjoy the large open space,boating, swimming or local attractions. You’ll make many memories here. The space The Homestead is a large, spacious, older home, that has been well cared for over the years. It has a new kitchen with stainless steel fridge, stove, and dishwasher. Both the dining room and living room have a beautiful view of the river. If more space is needed the Muskoka room can provide an extra place to read, play a game or cool off with some lemonade. There is one 3 piece bathroom on the main floor, and two 2 piece bathrooms upstairs off the bedrooms. As you will see from our many reviews, we have always provided a vacation accommodation that is "sparkling clean". We’ve recently upgraded to central air conditioning, so you’ll be comfortable even on hot summer days. Guest access At the Homestead you will have use of all the main floor, including a dining room, kitchen, living room, a 3 piece bathroom, 2 bedrooms and a Muskoka Room. The upper floor has 3 bedrooms, 2 of those bedrooms have a 2 piece bath attached. The basement is not accessible, but it is only for utilities. There is a BBQ with propane provided. At the waterfront there are a variety of outdoor chairs and lounge chairs. We have two picnic tables for outdoor meals. Other things to note We are 5 minutes away from great cross country ski trails in the winter and a variety of levels of mountain biking trails in the summer at Camping in Muskoka. See our guidebook for details. We have 2 canoes, 3 kayaks and a row boat for rent @ $60 for all the boats for your stay. A waiver needs to be signed by each adult using the boats. Paddles and life jackets are available. The river is safe and is a beautiful place to explore by boat. We offer firewood @ $20 a bundle, or you can bring your own.
