Beautiful Award Winning Historic Spanish Casita right near the Old Mission and Rose Gardens. Our Historic Casita has received the Santa Barbara Beautiful award and the prestigious George Washington Smith Award for Design Excellence. The space The house is built around four small courtyards boasting succulent gardens, citrus trees and water features. This authentically restored classic 1920’s home is centrally located on the prestigious upper east side, steps away from the famous Mission Santa Barbara and Rose Garden, two minutes drive to downtown (or a lovely walk through the neighborhoods) and ten minutes to the beach. (I also recommend a short walk up to the El Encanto Hotel for a sunset cocktail). Our Casita is ideal for a small family of 4 or 5, or a familial group of friends. Upstairs, find the main bedroom and and sneak a peak at the ocean, La Cumbre Peak, the Mission and the surrounding rustic tile roofs. Our beautifully appointed master bedroom loft has a queen bed and Moorish style bathroom with both shower and bath. Downstairs, find two more bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a double bed; they share a full bath with tub and shower, and an additional half bath. Both bedrooms look out onto a small, enclosed courtyard with a gurgling fountain and antique bistro table and chairs (blue wall in photos). The brand new gourmet kitchen has been upgraded with a Wolf range/ oven Sub Zero refrigerator, and Miele dishwasher. If you are a cook, you will appreciate the wide variety of spices and cookware available for your use. The classic ‘butler’s pantry’ hosts a hidden Miele washer/dryer along with an extensive collection of Mexican and Spanish talavera for your use. Use them while you entertain in the private dining room or open the French doors and enjoy indoor/outdoor living in the larger dining courtyard. The entire downstairs features the original dark oak hardwood flooring, waxed in the traditional style. The cozy living room has a wood burning/gas fireplace and is decorated with a charming combination of memories from travels, designer furnishings, and eclectic art, as does the entire home. I almost forgot the den where you can relax and watch a movie. Streaming stations only. You will find our home clean and stocked with most anything you could need.
