The Old Post Office is a self-catering holiday cottage with spectacular views across Loch Torridon to Beinn Alligin and Liathach. The cottage is situated in the remote crofting village of Arrina on the north coast of Applecross peninsular. The space The area is of exceptional natural beauty, perfect for outdoor activities, wonderful walks, loch fishing and bird-watching, or just for lazing, reading, photography or painting. The kitchen, a modern extension with wonderful views across the loch, is well-equipped with gas cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, dish washer and radio. There are two double bedrooms, one being twin bedded, as well as a small child’s bedroom. Bed linen is provided but please bring your own towels. The comfortable sitting room has an open log fire, guidebooks, maps, games and a DVD player. Off the front porch, the old Post Office room is now a peaceful library with a fine selection of books, an iPod player. There is a shower room on the ground floor. A washing machine and dryer are located in the toolshed. There is oil-fired central heating throughout the cottage which ensures warmth throughout the year. There is now full mobile phone coverage in the village of EE and O2 customers. Kind neighbours see to the changeover between guests. Arinacrinachd (Arrina) is an ancient settlement, probably Pictish if not earlier, with its own Standing Stone. It is a magical spot with superb views across Loch Torridon. You can observe Bein Aligin, the most beautiful mountain in Scotland, veiling and unveiling all day long. Directions will be provided on confirmation of your booking. Our change over day is Saturday. Arrive after 4 pm depart by 10 am. Linen: We provide all bedding, tea towels and cleaning materials but please bring your own towels. We include reasonable use of electricity and logs.
