A Casiña (The Little House) in the mountains

Small stone guest house in idyllic setting. Take a vacation off the beaten track in a place where time has stopped. Take long walks, ride a bike through the forest, or just sit around a wood stove and read, but at the same time be within a short drive of local pubs and gastronomic restaurants, ethnographic museums, walled cities, medieval buildings and churches, sandy beaches, fishing villages and beach town resorts. The space This is the perfect retreat for a couple or solo traveler. It is an over 200-year-old stone house built to withstand the ages that was recently renovated preserving the original materials of stone, slate and chestnut wood while adding the modern amenities of electricity and indoor plumbing. It has two stacked rooms connected by a circular staircase. On the top floor is a bedroom with the original refinished chestnut wood floor, a pull down chestnut wood writing desk and toilet washroom. On the bottom floor is a small tiled kitchen, dining area, wood burning stove and shower. It is perched on the top of a hill with a view of the picturesque village and valley below. This cozy stone house is located in a village on the border of Asturias and Galicia. While it may seem like you have reached the end of the world, it is not far from civilization. Only a couple of miles from the rural tourist town of Taramundi, it is a perfect base for day trips to the historic cities of Lugo, Mondoñedo, and Santiago de Compostela, the beaches of Asturias and Galicia, or nearby fishing villages and beach resort towns. Guest access Guest access There is no television or wifi access in the house, but you can access wifi in the main house next door in order to send and receive email. You may also access the washing machine and clothes line in the main house. There is a shared patio in between the houses with an outdoor table and chairs to enjoy the weather on a nice day. Other things to note While we are located in Spain, this is the north of Spain, so be prepared for chilly evenings and some cool days, even in summer. If you plan to stay in the winter, the house is heated with a wood burning stove, so you will need to build a fire every day. I have a friendly dog who may greet you noisily. Pet dogs are welcome to stay at the guest house as long as they don't get agitated around other dogs.
