The space This is the first Nest we designed and used as our home. Tuki, Cebuano for WHALE SHARK, represents the precious gentle giant of our seas, once hunted and now protected, thanks to the efforts of Carina Escudero, who once lived in this residence. This home is on the 2ND FLOOR of a renovated former Navy house in Kalayaan village. One PARKING slot is available for Tuki Nest guests. We have a NEIGHBOR who is very sensitive about guests parking in front of his side of the house. Our Tuki Nest is a 1 bedroom unit. Inside, you'll find a spacious LIVING ROOM and DINING area that flows seamlessly to a large PORCH, ideal for outdoor dining. The floors, made from used PALLET WOOD, carry the character of years of love and fun, including a few DOGGIE scratches from their playful days upstairs. The living room and bedroom are fully AIR-CONDITIONED, but you can also open the windows to enjoy the cool breezes from September to February. The BEDROOM features a cozy study and dresser area, while the BATHROOM boasts a new floor and a shower curtain for privacy. The fully-equipped KITCHEN is a dream for culinary enthusiasts, complete with a stove, oven, kettle, and French press for your morning coffee. Groups will love cooking up a storm together here. Tuki Nest looks out to towering trees, wild birds, and a verdant GARDEN that sprawls down a gentle slope to create a view that soothes the senses. Guest access Tuki Nest is your sanctuary for fun, relaxation, and unforgettable memories situated at the heart of the rainforest in an old US NAVAL residential area. The entire 2nd floor with bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen, and porch will be your PRIVATE HOME for the entire duration of your stay. The backyard/garden area of our home (down the hill) is off limits to guests if our Mango Nest is in use. The laundry room, electrical room, and storage areas in the garage are also off-limits. The BEDROOM has a queen sized bed and ample beddings. It also has its own private access to the PORCH via sliding glass doors. The BATHROOM comes with hot and cold water to soothe your worries away. The LIVING ROOM has 3 sofa beds which can be fitted with bedsheets upon request. For entertainment, the space comes with board games and a huge LED TV, perfect for fun nights or binging on your favorite shows. The KITCHEN is fully equipped and includes self service breakfast. which includes fresh fruit, homemade sourdough bread, peanut butter with cacao, eggs, and locally-sourced coffee. You can also purchase The Nest by the Sea's CHAMPORADO via our shop. :) Tuki Nest offers POTABLE water, FIBER INTERNET (subject to occasional disruptions due to the woody area), and a favorite nap spot on the porch with a Brazilian HAMMOCK. Our Tuki Nest is closest to ROYAL DUTY FREE, where we do most of our groceries. You will be pleased to find other restos, wine shops, quick bites, delis and a variety of STORES offering a great selection of goods from American hardware to winter wear. Or you can simply drive to our neighborhood convenience store, GOBSTOPPER just a minutes away. VALUE-ADDS: • Free self-service breakfast items with unlimited coffee and tea • Exclusive perks from partner establishments • Discounts for 2+ nights • Baby crib and high chair available by reservation with a fee Other things to note THINGS TO CONSIDER: • Kalayaan Homes allows guests to enter only via the Argonaut Highway Gate. • Roadside parking spaces • Ideal for guests with vehicles, Subic Taxis can be pricey • Forest wildlife such as monkeys, insects, birds and reptiles • Power and Internet interruptions during bad weather • Noise Restrictions, no loud parties, no karaoke • Alcohol restrictions, no hard liquor • Illegal downloads are not tolerated in our homes • Pets allowed after approval process with a P500 pet fee. • Extra Guest fees after 4 guests • Extra charges may be applied for special requests such as early check in or late check out. DISCOUNTS Our guests often regret not booking longer, so we've added in discounts for stays of 2 nights or more. The longer you stay, the bigger the discount. Treat yourself to that extra day! DAYTIME GUESTS We charge a daytime guest fee of P500 per guest. Please let us know if you will be entertaining guests in our Nest. CATS When the dogs are not around, there are some stray cats that hang around the property. NOISE The Tuki Nest floors are made of wood, with only a small space separating them from your ceiling, so you will most likely hear the guests or the dogs walking around up there sometimes. Our neighbors may get loud at night. No noise is allowed past 10pm. If that happens, please let us know, so we can alert the village security guards. REBOOKING In line with our firm cancellation policy, we do not allow rebooking less than 2 weeks before your stay. CLEANING AND SHEET CHANGES In our effort to reduce unnecessary use resources, cleaning and sheet changes are conducted every 3 days for longer stays. Should you want your sheets to be changed daily, this can be arranged for an extra cleaning fee. ACTIVITIES Subic has great activities for all types of groups and individuals.
