Vrahakia is a cosy little house with a rocky garden and spectacular seaview. The building was renovated in the first half of 2022 , respecting the unique nature of the harbour and combining modern design style. The space The father of my grandfather bought this house from a Turkish resident of the area in 1892. My grandfather had his own tavern in one of the floors of the building between 1950 and 1980. At that time his tavern was one of the best in the city, mostly known for his straight-out-of-the-sea fish. The locals called him Vrahakias from the Greek word βράχος (vrahos) that means a sea rock. For many years he was the guard of the Marina and he helped the local fishermen that had their boats there with everything they needed, as he was a fisherman himself too.
