The Lakes Bed & Breakfast - Sea View Room

The Lakes B&B is a quiet, dog friendly getaway at Waikawa Beach, a hidden gem near Otaki. Enjoy views over the coastline, with stunning sunrises and sunsets and plenty of bird life. The beach is just a short walk away and is great for swimming in the summer and long walks all year round. We welcome couples, solo travellers, families, and well behaved pets. Whether it's a stop-over on your journey or a weekend getaway from the city, Alistair and I look forward to hosting you at Waikawa Beach. The space Guests have private access to a large bedroom with sea views, ensuite bathroom and lots of outdoor spaces. There’s a small fridge, bench oven and kettle in your room with the essentials. Breakfast can be enjoyed at your outdoor table looking at the view. I can provide a port a cot if needed. We prefer dogs to sleep on the floor or in a crate, if they insist on sleeping on the bed - please please bring a blanket. Note, we don’t have a fully fenced property. Guest access There’s plenty of parking on the driveway directly outside your room. During your stay We always try to have a quick chat with our guests but understand they are here for time together. Other things to note Our dog Jed may bark when you arrive, but he’s only excited to have company. He loves going to the beach - he will even show you the way there. Jed's well trained and very good with other dogs. We also have two cats - Molly & Poppy. The beach is great for walking, swimming and biking (at low tide), and there are more walks to explore in the local area. We’re a 15 minute drive from Otaki where you'll find great coffee, outlet shopping stores, and markets on the weekend.
