Meadowcroft Farm: Private & Sunny Loft Apartment
Totally private and convenient to backroad or coastal adventure. Your perch at a working hillside sheep farm and Seacolors Yarnery. Easy east/west access and paved road. Farm vacation, without getting dirty, unless you want to... Create your own itinerary, dark skies, incredible sunsets. Questions about fiber farming? I am there working most days, tagalong or let's put our feet up and watch that sun set. Self contained with modern kitchen and bath. A great state to make memories. Out by 11, in after 4. I am at Farmers Markets three days a week (Th/Fri/Sat) in summer and some weekends, Saturdays in winter, please do not go "beyond the gate" to the fields without me as it presents a biosecurity risk. If you would like me to light the wood fired sauna, that can be arranged! Occasional Sunday Open Farm events. Great space for yoga, or just contemplating your naval. Well lit studio available FOR FREE if you are a fiber artist/teacher wanting to do a workshop! This is a Farm. Depending on the season, may look like a farm, smell like a farm, sound like a farm, because it IS a farm. Barking dogs will offer predator control at night, and are VERY friendly. Crowing rooster eliminates need for alarm clock and keeps laying hens happy. All yours! Additional sleeping spaces in cupola or on couch, no extra charge. Enter through the barn, or steeper access to the deck. Plenty of lights. Non animal space. My house is separate, you are in the upstairs of the post and beam barn, with your own deck, Cupola for warm nights and cool views. Totally private, as am I, though happy to show you the lay of the land, and anything you might want to know about sheep and wool! Wednesday evenings I will host anyone interested in coming to the Fiber Shed for Yarns, Sweaters or Blankets. Learn more at www.getwool.com. I am a farmer, so in and out and all about. Working dogs on premises are generally under wraps and friendly. But sheep are vulnerable, so guest pets are sadly not welcome. Lots of Antiques, brew/distillery/winery/cheese tours, Farmers Markets, Contra Dancing, delicious junk shops, remarkable eateries on and off the beaten path, lakes for swimming and small craft, public gardens, walks/hikes, or the rocky coast of Maine! You are your own guide, I can point you in many directions. Lots of summer fairs and festivals, only 40 minutes from MOFGA Common Ground, and 10 minutes to Windsor or Union Fairs. Museums, Theaters, Old Opera House venues in abundance within 40 minutes or fewer. No public transportation, quiet road for walks or runs or cycling. Plenty of great places to hike and State Parks or local Preserves to explore. Clean lakes and wildlife too. Hour and 15 min to Portland or Bangor. It's a country thing, with convenience... Middle of Nowhere, Center of the Universe. Not handicap accessible. Dogs will Bark. Rooster will crow. Thunder will rumble in the distance, rain will patter on the roof.
