This room features a large desk with lovely window and very comfy single bed. It is separated from my room by a tapestry and half wall, but I can sleep elsewhere when requested. It's a block from Whole Foods and the library. Four blocks from Davis street train station, Trader Joe’s, numerous restaurants, shops and landmarks very near. Bike, divvys available. Free breakfast!! Room CANNOT be locked from the outside, just inside because it's against fire regulations, but all's safe. Charming! The space Please read and accept all descriptions, fees and guidelines before requesting to book! This is occasionally my office but the desk is cleared for you use. There are hangers, bins, shelves and a dresser. There is a HALF WALL in between this and mine with a curtain but as I said I can sleep elsewhere, and am painstakingly careful not to make a peep while the guest is in my room and often go elsewhere when the guest is home. I use a white noise app for sleep. Please be courteous. If you’d had a long day, shower before bed! The apartment has hardwood floors and a beautiful porch with a cozy living room and charming kitchen. There are guests staying in the other pricier room next to this. There is a little trick to the front door key. One must push it in then pull out a tiny bit, lift, and turn to the right. Straight key for downstairs, notched one for apartment. Please read and acknowledge all information before booking, and the house manual before checkin!! Guest access Living room, bathrooms, kitchen, porch are all communal areas. During your stay I’m available at all times for any questions or concerns. I make no noise at all while in my office if you are in the room. My mother Alice is also here. In booking you agree to the description and terms of the rental. There is another room which is more expensive as it is more private and equipped. The price reflects all issues stated herein. This is ideal for visitors of Northwestern. If Downtown Chi is your destination, you may prefer elsewhere. On the other hand it is very peaceful, lovely and safe here. The train stop is only four blocks away. Please remember this is our home, not a hotel, and we will be sharing a space. Please agree not to make petty criticisms. It is a comfortable, safe and homey place to lay one’s head, read, study, have a meal etc. we are quiet, easy going handicapped people. Please be aware and respectful.
