Waterman’s Waypoint is a newly renovated, pet friendly 3 bedroom waterfront home located on Prentice Creek. The perfect serene getaway, the property is 3 miles from the town of Kilmarnock, Virginia. There is a private dock and boat ramp perfect for personal watercraft and a deep water slip to accommodate up to a 60’ yacht. New in 2021, Adirondack Chairs, a new Fire Pit and new mattresses on the twin beds. The space This lovely air conditioned home has spectacular sunset views and is surrounded by water on three sides. The rural setting is definitely in the country with the nearest neighbor being a corn field away. This is a perfect getaway from the city hustle and bustle. By car it is about 2 hours from Norfolk or Richmond, and 3 hours from the Northern Virginia, DC area and Charlottesville, or if you want to arrive by boat it is half way between Annapolis and Norfolk, one days sail away from each. Boats with up to a 6 foot draft can access the property via Prentice Creek, a branch of Dividing Creek which opens directly into the Chesapeake Bay less than 1 mile from the pier. This creek is known in the sailing community as a favorite “Gunkhole”, a sheltered anchorage half way between the Potomac and the Rappahannock rivers. In addition to the dock there is a concrete boat ramp for launching small watercraft less than 18 feet. The ramp is very steep and cannot accommodate larger boats. If you have a larger boat that needs to be launched please inquire regarding your options. There are beautiful natural beaches at the mouth of Dividing Creek just a short boat ride away. Osprey, Blue Heron, Bald Eagle and Swan (in the winter months) as well as a wide variety of song birds are common, a birders paradise. Guest access Guests will have access to the full house, dock, and boat ramp and can fish or crab right from the dock. There is a screened front porch overlooking the water and a sun room with skylights, wet bar and ice machine for the convenience of the guests. There are 3 bedrooms 2 with queen beds and one with twin beds. There is also a daybed with a trundle bed underneath in the living room, and another one in the den. There are total sleeping accommodations for 10 if all are in use. There are two bathrooms one in the bedroom wing with a tub shower and one near the den with a standing shower. A charcoal grill and a fire pit are provided for guest use. Please ensure that the ashes are contained in the metal container provided. Other things to note You are not in the city anymore! Guests must understand that the property is in a rural location and has septic system. Water is provided by a deep artesian well that provides clean clear delicious water.
