ALMOND GARDEN, Beamed House

The house harmoniously combines the cozy atmosphere of a traditional farmhouse with features that support a contemporary lifestyle. It offers three independently accessible bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom, an indoor kitchen, and a spacious summer kitchen. With families in mind, two of the bedrooms can be connected upon request, making it ideal for guests traveling with children. The space We offer a newly renovated traditional peasant house for rent, next to the Kali basin, in the Nivegy valley. We remodelled the oldest building in Szentjakabfa to conform to today’s expectations for comfort. The house is a mix of the homey atmosphere of a peasant house and modern living functions. Three rooms, each with a separate entrance and a bathroom, and an indoor and an outdoor kitchen (40m2) serve our guests. Two of the rooms can function as a double room if requested. This is ideal for families with children. The house can sleep 8 -10 persons. The house has 2 main entrances. The fully furnished kitchen has an oven, a microwave, an electric induction cooktop, a dishwasher, a fridge and various small appliances. The outdoor kitchen features a fireplace with a grill insert, an electric induction cooktop and a fridge as well as cookware and crockery. The house has central heating with heated floors in the bathrooms. The house has a lovely garden for our guests’ use. There is a beatiful view of the Mencshely hills from the end of the garden. Szentjakabfa is a quiet village: thru traffic and noisy tourist establishments don’t disturb its peace. It is surrounded by nature: forests and vineyards dominate the landscape. It has a wonderful location: situated on the top of Nivegy valley it offers a panoramic view of Lake Balaton. The area is great for hiking and bike tours. Vineyards offer vine tasting and food. The popular Zanka beach on the lake is 8 km from the house. Koveskal, a small community of gastro village fame is 11,5 km from us. Guest access The guesthouse also features a spacious, comfortable garden for private use. The garden is equipped with outdoor furniture, a ping-pong table, and—upon request—a trampoline. The traditional oven is also for private use. Guests may use the estate’s relaxation house free of charge, which includes a sauna for up to six people. Among the almond trees, there is also a saltwater swimming pool with panoramic views of Lake Balaton, designed for our guests’ comfort. Sun loungers are available by the pool, making it a perfect spot for relaxation. Other things to note Our guesthouse is the realization of a long-held dream. For many years, my family and I spent our holidays in the Balaton Uplands, a region that completely captivated us and drew us back year after year. In 2015, we decided to purchase land and begin building. We spent four years searching for the ideal property—one where we could bring our own vision to life. This journey led us to Szentjakabfa, a village with a truly exceptional location, and to the estate where we created Manduláskert in 2021. As an artist and a devoted admirer of the Balaton Uplands, I continuously strive to ensure that Manduláskert offers our guests the same sense of comfort and tranquility that I experienced in this region decades ago. I also work on film productions and photo shoots in Budapest. After the hustle and intensity of the capital, arriving in Szentjakabfa always feels like a deep breath of fresh air. With renewed motivation, I lovingly care for and refine the surroundings so that they can be enjoyed by everyone.
