Quiet House (Sgle) nr Hanover

Please note house is now terracotta red! Near to downland I offer two rooms in my small home, a 1952 brick house with garden on a hill above the beautiful city . A quiet space set back from the exciting busy old lanes, famous pier and bustling new shopping malls of the centre seen below us. The space Semi-detached privately owned and modernised 1950's brick house. A lovely terraced garden offering secluded seating areas in a quiet neighbourhood overlooking the city and coastline. Easy access to the South Downs being only 5 minutes from Brighton Racecourse. Many Bus routes serve the area and it is close to the arty Hanover quarter offering numerous pubs serving good fare and entertainment and glorious Queens Park for duck and geese watching!. Street parking is payable from Oct 2017 There are convenience stores 5 mins away. Restaurants abound in Kemp Town a 20 mins walk downhill. It is a friendly mainly residential area attracting all social classes and therefore an interesting mix of housing and people with some stunning period architecture to be enjoyed especially around the nearby ancient Queens Park. The house was modernised 15 years ago and has wooden floor boards and rugs.There is a modern fully equipped kitchen/diner with gas cooker, microwave, washing machine, share of fridge but not freezer which is full and dishwasher. The lounge and conservatory may not be available .. (at host's discretion.) A Single Bright Seaview Firstfloor Bedroom (101 sq ft/9.4 sq m) with a wardrobe, chair, shelving, desk top,and bedside cabinet. It is next to a large shared bathroom (106 sq ft/6.86 sq m) with big Victorian bath tub and shower over, shared with one other. The toilet is on the ground floor. Guests may use the kitchen which has usual whites, washing machine, dishwasher, gas cooker, electric oven, microwave, share of fridge. House rules are stated in relation to this. Guests asked to respect small kitchen space and liaise re cooking meals. The lounge can be used with landlady's permission. The large bathroom with Victorian tub is shared with the landlady only. The house has Virgin WiFi. A lovely garden offers quiet space to relax and enjoy if desired. During your stay Landlady who is 68 and active is retired and is social but also needs downtime at times. This is not a party house full of lively teenagers but mainly quiet with small house party gatherings occasionally. There are two lively young female cats, Mum and her daughter. At certain times landlady goes travelling. The house is a warm and friendly space. There are lots of informative leaflets/maps/city guides to borrow including on London and the landlady enjoys sharing her love and knowledge of the city which is considerable. Normally there will be no more than 3 (landlady, and two guests (one in ensuite loft with large space) sharing the house. Any stay longer than one month is to be reviewed after first month by both parties. I can only accommodate Singles unless for a very short stay which would be negotiable...
