We're 10 min from wineries/dining in Kenwood and Glen Ellen in the heart of Sonoma Valley, adjacent to Napa Valley, with fantastic wineries, restaurants, breweries and 4 state parks with a free pass! We welcome friendly people of all backgrounds! Our place is not a luxury property as some others are, rather, it's a relaxing "old time" camp feeling. Our family has cherished this property since before the turn of the century. The cabin is located in our backyard, 30 feet from our house, separated by a courtyard which is shared. You may see us in the backyard, gardening, dining, etc, but in our space or the shared area. ....You'll have a keyless code, tons of elec. outlets, Wi-fi, Roku for Netflix etc, Bose bluetooth/wired player for music. ....Phone service: ATT cell service works (other providers will have a weaker signal here) but we are out in the (Wine) country so make sure to check in our wi-fi for your texting, etc. ....Kitchen: It's a small but complete with: range, full size fridge, microwave, pots and pans, bake ware, blender, popcorn popper, knives, peelers, spices, condiments, napkins, paper towels, even "to go" coffee cups and bottled water. Lots of silverware and plates/bowls/glasses. Gas grill on deck is ready for your exclusive use. ....Spa: It's clean and hot and has instructions attached. ....Beds: a queen mattress, high count cotton sheets. 2nd bed is a (click-clack type) double futon sleeper sofa in the same room that can accommodate 2 more small or medium sized adults or children. If you have booked 3 or more people, I will have the sleeper sofa made up for sleeping when you arrive. If you have just 2 people and need both beds made up, please tell me in advance, otherwise I will assume you are sharing the bed and would like to retain the use of the couch as a couch. ....Heat and cooling: Gas free standing fireplace and a ceiling fan warm and cool you in our wine country climate. ....Bathroom: The outdoor (only) shower is 100% private, closed in, and accessed through the bathroom (not the yard). Its warm while you are showering. The original "bathroom" sink is located in the bedroom, as was common a hundred years ago. Luggage rack/freestanding closet with hangers is provided. ....Dining: Eat outside at the patio table on your deck or there is a small table inside the unit for dining inside. ....Outdoor Seating: There is the old fashioned padded swing seat adjacent to the spa, the outdoor dining table and chairs, and you may sit at our covered outdoor couch area if you feel like socializing as this is a shared area. ....Going hiking? We've got the maps and books to guide you! Free parking and tons of hiking at all state parks in the area with our parking pass plus borrow our backpack style picnic "basket". We've pre-loaded it with plates, napkins, small knife, cutting board, etc, everything you need to make a picnic out of yummy local food finds. We'd love to give you tips about where to go and trail maps/book are in the cabin. ....Night time: Our yard is well lit for night time enjoyment. Main overhead outdoor light switch is to the left of the cabin door cabin door. ....Summer only: Morton's Warm Springs is a pool and picnic grounds almost next door to us. You may hear a few swimmers and their picnicking during the day. Visit Mortons to cool off or just stroll the grounds along the creek, all with our included cabin pass at no charge. Hours: May and Sept: open weekends and holidays, June, July, August open Tuesday thru Sunday. 10 am to 6 pm. This year, you have to have a reservation which I can explain, due to the meeting to limit the numbers for Covid. Shared areas: Please use the spa whenever you want. We have clean loaner suits in the cabin if you forgot yours. The campfire and seating there is a natural gathering spot, everyone is welcome to join anyone there. Couch seating area on big deck is shared. Guests area: inside the cabin, deck has chairs and a table for 4 for eating or relaxing al fresco. An old fashioned (couch style) swing is near the spa for you to enjoy. Make sure to note where the switches are for all the night time lighting. Family only areas: Our house, front porch, back deck grill next to main house, and all other areas not mentioned. We love to hang out sharing a glass of something if you like. Some travelers are too busy to socialize and that works equally well. We will most likely be present in our home. We are located in the beautiful rural premium wine growing area of Sonoma Valley and are close to 4 state parks that are great for hikes and walks and we have a free parking pass for you: Jack London, Sugarloaf, Annadel and Armstrong Redwoods State Nature Preserve. We live in a wooded area near a creek on a country road that is popular for cycling and walks. Beautiful woods and wildlife are abundant. Deer, turkeys, hawks, squirrel, and more might be seen daily. In your room you will find a short list of great restaurants and wineries and breweries nearby. We have lived here for 40 years and are happy to give more suggestions too! Car is most common method but we have Uber (15-20 min wait), wine tours, limos and more in this area. We are 10 minutes from wineries in Kenwood (2 miles) or Glen Ellen (3.4 miles), Sonoma (11 miles). Napa Valley is 40 minutes (16 miles). SFO is 90-120+ minutes, depending on traffic. Oakland Airport is 79 minutes (66 miles) . Ocean (Bodega Bay) is 51 minutes (34 miles). Groceries, wine, great food to go and extraordinary sandwiches are 10 minutes from our house at Glen Ellen Village Market.
