Description

A luxuriously appointed four-bedroom Cumbrian manor house overlooking the sundrenched walls of the parish church of St John's. Flip the dining table for a game of billiards or stoke the wood stove with logs from the estate and stretch out on generous sofas and chaise longue for family film nights or to lose yourself in a book. Relax in the gated and sandstone walled orchard garden. Kirkbride Hall is an ideal family and friends retreat with private access to Melmerby Hall's ancient woodland. The space Kirkbride Hall, built from recycled dry-stone walls on the estates, looks like it’s been here forever. Curl up on your window-seat overlooking the sundrenched walls of the parish church of St John and daydream. Flip the dining table for a game of snooker and a chance to catch up. Stoke the wood stove with logs from the estate and stretch out on generous sofas and chaise longue for family film nights or to lose yourself in a book. Off kitchen duty? Invite in the caterers; there’s plenty of room. Or make the most of long summer nights and spark up the barbecue for a Cumbrian grill washed down with wine from your generous wicker welcome hamper of local delicacies. Guest access Exclusive occupancy Other things to note Our property provides for our guests complimentary use of a Weber charcoal BBQ, a cast iron fire pit and a log burning stove. Key safety points Adverse weather/wind conditions can cause a fire to become out of control. We strongly advise not lighting the Woodburner, BBQ or Fire Pit if winds are blowing hard (particularly if above 20 mph). Use a minimal number of fire lighters – one is sufficient Use kindling to start a small fire and then slowly add larger pieces of wood. Never over fill the fire equipment with wood. Ensure the ash pan door* remains closed when using the woodburner. Do not leave fires unattended. Keep all people and pets away from fires. Ensure the fire has been extinguished before going to bed. Make sure ashes are cold before disposing of them in the metal ash bucket. In case of an emergency Woodburner – immediately close the primary air vent on the front of the stove. Keep stove doors and vents shut. Fire Pit & BBQ – Use sand from the outdoor bucket to smother the fire. Please ccontact us as owners in the event of any questions regarding the above additional safety information. Thank you Christine and Charles
