Description
A warm welcome is waiting for you at The Den, quietly situated in the semi-rural village of Lytchett Matravers. This self contained, quirky retreat is an excellent touring base to explore many nearby attractions including an award winning vineyard, stunning walks and the golden beaches of Sandbanks. And if you need to unwind after a long day exploring the coastline, a soak in the hot tub could be just the thing to relax you after a long day. The space Once an old farm building, The Den has been lovingly updated as a quirky retreat, situated behind our home with its own private guest entrance. You will have sole access to our garden and we do everything to ensure your privacy. The bedroom area has a comfortable king size bed with the option to screen off via a curtain from the main area for privacy. The seating area has a comfortable sofa where you can watch TV, stream movies, eat or sit and browse a selection of books and information on the local area. You will be provided with welcome refreshments that include various teas, coffee and milk. The kitchen area offers the use of a microwave, fridge and kettle or you can sit at the desk workspace, taking full advantage of the free WiFi to catch up on any emails. There are lots of USB ports throughout The Den so your devices can be fully charged. Children can sleep on the ECO friendly, Kapok mattresses on the mezzanine level. Accessed via a ladder the mezzanine is a fun space made safe with grab rail and barrier. There is a Velux window for ventilation that can be locked open for safety and has a black out blind. There are also wooden venetian blinds fitted throughout for privacy. Electric heating is automatically programmed for your comfort so no need to worry about having to remember to switch them on or off. The shower room has a large shower, a line to drip dry any swimwear and a back lit mirror with USB and shaving port. Outside you can enjoy evening dining in the sunshine at the wooden garden table where you can plan your next day’s adventure, relax with a glass of wine or simply unwind in our hot tub. Just two minutes walk to The Chequers Inn and five minutes walk to the village centre with Tesco, post office, pharmacy and a second pub, you have all the basic amenities on your doorstep. If you fancy a lovely breakfast, The Barn Cafe is just a five minute drive on the edge of the village or you can pop into the newly opened Greywood Cafe. Easy drive into Poole, Wareham, Corfe Castle, Dorchester , Bournemouth and Dorset’s stunning Jurassic coast making this an ideal get away location for two or a family of four. Guest access Guest parking is on street, just outside our house. Other things to note We are proud to have Lytchett Matravers Detachment (The Rifles), Dorset Army Cadet Force, located behind The Den - you may hear them parading on a weekday evening. Opened in 1995, and is to this day, home to a successful ACF unit.
