Our fully-furnished, 1000-square-foot, attached apartment makes sustainability comfortable. From the solar panels outside to the life-affirming wood interior, this apartment exudes positive energy. Being two miles from UConn and Storrs downtown, with easy access to public transportation, this location remains convenient while helping you feel that you've gotten away from it all. We hope you will love the natural feel of the wood as much as we do in our architecturally-unique home. Guest access The apartment is equipped with its own modern kitchen, patio and deck areas, independent of the main house. The private, upstairs bathroom is right off the main bedroom and includes a tub and shower. The futon in the living room downstairs folds out into another queen-sized bed, accommodating additional guests. The half-bath downstairs is also private to our guests. The dining area takes in views from the south and west; the upstairs seating area looks south and east. High-speed wireless internet is available throughout the apartment. Other things to note Sustainability reigns at the EcoHaven as the 27kW solar PV system provides the energy for the high-efficiency geothermal heating and cooling units. The apartment is equipped with energy-saving Nest thermostats and LED (warm) lighting. The house is oriented south, with few windows on the north side to maximize passive solar gain and keep the New England elements at bay. We encourage you to plug in your all-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle to recharge its battery as you charge your own.
