Being two miles from UConn and Storrs downtown, with easy access to public transportation, this location remains convenient while helping you feel that you've gotten away from it all. We hope you will love the natural feel of the wood as much as we do in our architecturally-unique home. The apartment is equipped with its own modern kitchen, patio and deck areas, independent of the main house. The private, upstairs bathroom is right off the main bedroom and includes a tub and shower. The futon in the living room downstairs folds out into another queen-sized bed, accommodating additional guests. The half-bath downstairs is also private to our guests. The dining area takes in views from the south and west; the upstairs seating area looks south and east. High-speed wireless internet is available throughout the apartment. The apartment is attached to the main house, so we are only a text away should you need anything from us. Even though we are close by, your access to Ecohaven is private. Though we stock the fridge with some eats for you to enjoy on your first morning, we don't serve breakfast as part of this listing. There is a bulletin board in the apartment with brochures and menus from some of our favorite places to visit. Though this area is called the Quiet Corner, having UConn so close provides us with many culinary and cultural treats. Located right next to the Spring Hill Historic District, our property is surrounded by the open space of UConn fields and Joshua Trust land. Walking along Route 195 is not recommended, but hiking along the Nipmuk Trail is! Our view rivals 50-foot, which is another vista along the Nipmuk trail, a short hike east from the house. We are two miles from downtown Storrs and the UConn campus to the north and Willimantic is not much further to the south. Storrs is located en route between Boston and New York City in the Quiet Corner of Connecticut. Bicycle riding is pretty hilly around Mansfield, but the ride to UConn is gradual. The Willimantic to Storrs bus runs regularly and stops just a short walk away from the apartment. Two parking spaces on the property are available for free during your stay. Sustainability reigns at the EcoHaven as the 27kW solar PV system provides the energy for the high-efficiency geothermal heating and cooling units. The apartment is equipped with energy-saving Nest thermostats and LED (warm) lighting. The house is oriented south, with few windows on the north side to maximize passive solar gain and keep the New England elements at bay. We encourage you to plug in your all-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle to recharge its battery as you charge your own.
