Shepherd's Hut in West Dorset

Sandpit Hut offers rustic elegance, luxurious comfort and breathtaking views of the scenic landscapes of West Dorset. The sunsets are big and magical. Nestled in isolation, and immersed in nature, it provides the perfect escape from modern life. Its proximity to the renowned Jurassic Coast allows exploration of stunning beaches and there is fine dining in many seaside restaurants. Dorset's largest hills and magical views are all on the doorstep. The space In the main room there is a very comfy double bed, two bedside tables with space each side of the bed to walk around. There is a double Belfast sink, a fridge/freezer, a microwave, an induction hob, a kettle, a toaster, a table and two chairs. There is space for suitcases under the bed, storage for clothes in the baskets also under the bed and hangers on stylish oak hooks. (All the instruction manuals for the appliances are in the cupboard). There are several lanterns and candles and fairy lights for your enjoyment. In the bathroom there is a shower, a toilet, a heated towel rail and a small sink, with oak shelves for towels and wash bags. In the evening the sun light is beautiful with the evening sunset. The double doors open out on to your own private space within the field. From the garden gate there are lanterns with little t-lights to add to the romance! With newly planted trees it is a scented and peaceful garden. We are lucky enough to have spectacular sunsets so just come and enjoy the colours and the solitude. There is a picnic table with benches, a bbq and a fire pit, complete with logs. Free parking is provided just outside the stable barn, and a wheelbarrow is provided to walk up a 200-metre mown path to the shepherd's hut. We have a very friendly Cocker Spaniel "Chaos" who will definitely want to meet you, if you want to meet her. We also have horses in our field and occasionally sheep. Guest access There is free parking which you will see as you drive up towards the stable barn. When you walk up to the top of the field you will see a fenced area with the shepherd's hut in, which will be for your use throughout your stay. Please don’t climb the tree house due to health and safety risks. Other things to note If you would like to bring children with you we have a bell tent that we can put up for you at the side of the hut. There is a flat circular area on which the tent sits. It comes complete with a carpet, bedside tables and lanterns/torches, however camp beds/blow up beds are not provided. There is an additional charge.
