Riad El Rahala - Ochre Suite (1 of 4 Suites)

Riad El Rahala is located 3min inside Essaouira’s UNESCO world heritage medina with easy access to the beach, surfing centers, and the Mogador Golf shuttle. This traditionally restored riad offers a roof terrace with panoramic view and an open sky atrium bringing light and fresh air throughout the property. The space The tadelakted walls of Riad El Rahala’s Ochre suite was inspired by the rich and rustic Amazigh heritage in Morocco. The ochre walls conjure visions of red earth mountains in the High Atlas with village homes built from the same soil. The room’s window looks down on our street with the children, neighbours, and cats that make up daily life in the medina. This window along with the bathroom atrium window assure a constant flow of fresh sea air. Furnishings include a double bed, molded sitting area between two wardrobes, molded wall shelves, floor and wall lamps, a table, and mirrors. The sink and lighted mirror are located at the room’s entrance, in the passage way connecting the bedroom and bath. The room opens onto the second floor gallery lounging area that runs around three of the four atrium walls. Breakfast is served on the roof terrace, weather permitting, and on the ground floor in front of the fireplace during winter. Please let us know in advance if you have specific dietary needs. During your stay Riad El Rahala is my home, so I am available to meet guest’s bus or taxi, offer suggestions during the stay, and generally help if there is need. My aim is to ensure guests feel welcome and their holiday goes smoothly from arrival to departure. The riad provides an oasis of tranquility that reflects the slower pace of life found in Essaouira. Hopefully, from these surroundings guests will return home feeling both refreshed and content. Other things to note * We have pets at the riad. Caesar (dog) and Hubert (cat) are friendly, don’t bite, and both enjoy gentle petting. And, they are kept from wandering into guest rooms. * Airport and regional transport arranged on request * Washing machine available free of charge, drop off/pick up service available for a fee * Please notify us if there is a change in your arrival time * Let us know and we'll be happy to meet your bus or taxi Upon request, we can help make your arrangements for nearby activities - * Golf outing at Mogador Golf’s Gary Player designed course * Surfing: wind, kite, and board – rental and instruction available * Beach chairs, umbrella, and guardian available for a fee (inquire at the beach) * Tour the beach and dunes by horseback, camel, or Quad(ATV) * Visit an equestrian center for horse back riding lessons or a tour * Relaxing session at a hammam in the medina * Cooking Classes in the medina or with private chef in the riad * Afternoon at a riad in the countryside with pool, lunch, and transportation. * Visit to our local vineyard, Domaine du Val d’Argan, offering lunch, wine tasting, and swimming pool. * Visit to our local cheese producer, La Fromagerie, offering lunch, cheese tasting, wine, and swimming pool.
