A bright and cheerful studio loft in the heart of Grand Junction ready to welcome you and your dog(s)! Enjoy the entire solar-powered apartment yourself, with no shared spaces or entrances. We proudly offer a fee-free visit for those guests with dogs (sorry, no cats). The space Please read this description and all communications from us carefully so you understand our space, amenities, and how to get here. The pictures are also useful in setting your expectations. We're just a couple, with no kids, who have dogs and love adventures! While anyone is welcome here, that's pretty much who we built this unit for. We added features we'd want (laundry facility, games and books, dogs welcome, whimsical art, outdoor dining space, full kitchen, etc.) and hope our guests find them useful as they explore our amazing community. We've stayed in those short-term rental places that make you whimper when you open the door and want to wear shoes in the shower. Not so here! We are meticulous, proud of our property, and want the best reviews. Please do bring any issue to our attention immediately so we can make your stay with us everything you were hoping it would be. As we said, all are welcome here, but let us tell you about our space so you know if you'll be comfortable here. STAIRS: This space is up a flight of 14 stairs. There are no alternative ways to reach the space. The stairs are exterior. Once inside, everything is on one level. SIZE: It's a 550+ square foot loft apartment that we designed and built pretty much for very small parties of adults. BATHROOM: There's a full bath (shower, no tub) KITCHEN: Full kitchen with regular-sized appliances and dishes, utensils, pots/pans, storage containers, pans, etc. The kitchen has a small table and two chairs for dining or working. BEDROOM: Queen size bed and lots of under-bed drawer space. CLOSET: Small closet space for hanging clothes. LIVING ROOM: There's not much room for big furniture, so get cozy on our comfy furniture to watch TV. We also have a reading chair in the corner by the bed. SPARE BED: The rolling ottoman is actually a fold out bed with a single mattress inside. It's a great extra place to sleep, but be aware that the only interior door is to the bathroom. Just warning you that there's not much in the way of privacy. To be honest, in this space, two's company, three or more is probably a crowd when it comes to staying overnight, but the option's there if you need it. LAUNDRY/UTILITY ROOM: Inside the unit there is a stacking washer/dryer behind a curtain. This space also holds a little supply of laundry detergent and dryer sheets, spare cleaning rags, vacuum and mop. DOG OWNERS: We have dogs and hate traveling without them, which is why we don't charge a pet fee. Because we don't charge, we don't provide dishes, bedding, crates, etc. for your dog(s), so you will need to bring your own. Please do not use our dishes or linens for your dog(s). We ask that you keep your dog(s) off the furniture and windowsills. Damage caused by a guest's dog(s) will need to be repaired/replaced by the guest. Cleaning supplies are readily available in the unit. Please be aware there is no yard associated with our space, but we live within a block of two lovely parks and all our streets are great to walk along. There is a PETS section in our Welcome Book you may find useful upon arrival. CAT OWNERS: We have tried to be inclusive and allow cats to stay in our space, but it's just not working out. We've had furniture, linens and dishes destroyed and there is no good place for a litter box in this space. It's just not the best option for cat lovers, and we apologize that we can't accommodate your beloved cat(s) during your stay but appreciate your understanding. Given the size constraints, there's not room for us to stock things parents might find useful (highchairs, playpens, toys). The deck is a fantastic place to sit and soak in western Colorado sunsets and refreshing breezes, but it isn't really childproof. It's built to code, but there are lots of stairs and no gate. We gladly provide a little supply of basic things like coffee pods, tea bags, sugar, powdered creamer, spices, tissues, hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, and dryer sheets. We do have shampoo, conditioner and body wash as well. You may need to restock standard items if you're staying with us beyond a few days. Guest access The entire open-concept apartment is just for your use. Full kitchen, bath, laundry room, living room, bedroom, and deck. Other things to note While we have done everything in our power to sound-proof this unit (including SIP construction, MUCH higher than code R-value insulation, quality flooring, etc.) please remember you are above our garage and staying in a downtown area. We also live near two stadiums, public park, and a public pool. The facility hosts baseball and football games, track meets, swim meets, fireworks displays, car shows, festivals, and more. We observe quiet hours as well, but you may hear our garage door openers and other garage noises as we use our space and come and go.
