Description

Walk through the pink door into the basement apartment of an historic, 1902 urban farmhouse. The home is well-appointed with a calming neutral palette throughout. Enjoy views of the Cascade Mountains from the shared back deck, take a summer afternoon nap in the hammock, or share in the bounty of the beautiful garden. Please note that the ceilings in the apartment are quite low — it's cozy, but if you're tall or prefer a more airy space, it might not be a good fit. Your comfort is my top priority — I'm happy to answer any questions you have, so please don't hesitate to message me. Cozy 2BR basement apartment is fresh, clean, and quiet, and has its own private entrance separate from the main part of the house where your host lives. There is a fully appointed kitchen, two bedrooms (one queen bed, one full bed), bathroom with shower and built-in seat, and the sofa converts to a queen-size bed. Comfy linens include high thread count sheets and down comforters. You have the apartment to yourself, as well as access to the shared deck and backyard. A shared washer/dryer is available in a separate laundry room off the deck. The entrance to the apartment is at the back of the house through the yard. I live upstairs and will be available to help you with anything that comes up during your stay, but I'll give you your privacy if you would prefer not to interact. If you would like to be more social, I'm happy to tell you more about Seattle or share a drink on the deck. The apartment is on a quiet residential street in Seattle's vibrant and diverse Central District. Our neighborhood is the perfect Seattle landing spot with easy access to downtown, Lake Washington, First Hill hospitals, the Convention Center, and UW. Swedish Cherry Hill Hospital and Seattle University are around the corner, and trendy Capitol Hill with lots of restaurants, bars, yoga studios, and grocery stores is just a short walk or ride away. With a WalkScore of 86, it's easy to get around. There are several bus lines to downtown close by, including the 2, 3, 4, 12, and 27. The 3 & 4 are closest and pick up at Swedish Cherry Hill at 17th & Jefferson to head downtown. Street parking is free and easy to find. The ceilings in the apartment are low, so if you're tall, it might not be a good fit. We're generally pretty quiet and go to bed early, but if we're up and about you'll hear us moving around. There are no stairs to enter the apartment and there is a built-in seat in the shower (no tub). There is a small TV in the apartment but it is not hooked up to cable -- there is an antenna for local channels and you can bring your own digital streaming device. We have the fastest available WiFi but it still is not super fast and does go out occasionally. This is rarely a problem, but if you know you need lightening-fast WiFi for work, be aware it may not always be available here. The apartment has always been pet-free. I had a dog upstairs with me who recently passed away; it's likely we'll have a new companion at some point in the near future, and we sometimes foster dogs from the local shelter, but they do not have access to the apartment area. Please message me with any questions. My goal is to make your stay as comfortable as possible and I would greatly appreciate any feedback you have to improve your stay!
