An attractive 1920’s period semi-detached home set along a quiet, leafy residential street in Roundhay, close to amenities. The house is 10 minutes away from Leeds and the popular areas of Oakwood, Moortown, Chapel Allerton and Alwoodley, which offer a wide range of independent bars, shops and cafes. If you want some peace and quiet, we are a short walk away from beautiful Roundhay Park and Gledhow Valley Woods. Tropical World too. Free street parking. A 'home from home' to make memories ! The space This semi-detached family home is lovingly maintained and decorated with a mixture of vintage & modern furnishings and treasured items from our travels across Asia. The entire house features original wood flooring throughout, high ceilings with original deep cornices and freshly painted, warm and inviting bright and homely spaces. The property is perfect for families, groups of friends, couples and business travellers. Sleeps up to 6 adults (perfect for a comfortable, homely stay during Roundhay Park Festival events). LOUNGE / CHILL: The living room features an original cast iron, tiled fireplace (disused), comfy seating and an eclectic mix of furniture and textiles. Ambient lighting conducive to evenings in socialising or winding down after a busy day.. Smart TV, books for all ages. Chill in the fresh air too, sat in the country garden with a beer or coffee. KITCHEN / DINING: The kitchen is fitted with everything you need for the perfect homely stay including tea&coffee (you just need to bring your own fresh milk according to your preference - there’s a corner shop a few paces away). There are plenty of nice restaurants /pubs in walking/driving distance but if you want to cook we have everything you need for eating in: pots & pans, utensils, crockery and glassware. Oil, salt&pepper. Dining around the table for four (plus 2 stools) and a highchair if needed. Eco conscious cleaning products as we are a family who care :) There's a local shop around the corner for provisions and bigger supermarkets nearby. French doors open out to the lovely garden where there's a sociable garden dining set for al fresco dinners under the Russet tree, overlooking the lawn bordered by roses and free Rhubarb! There's also a utility room - feel free to use the washing machine / dryer, iron and ironing board. There's a washing line reel in the garden too. We offer Ecover gentle laundry products :) BEDROOMS / SLEEP: Beds- a Kingsize, a double and two singles: 1) Up the stairs to the first floor the landing leads into two bedrooms and the bathroom. The master bedroom contains a comfy king sized solid oak bed, with plenty of space to hang your clothes in the wardrobes & drawers. There's a feature cast iron fireplace (disused). Front elevation with a view of the cherry tree. Dunelm ‘So Soft’ bedlinen and Next duvets&pillows&textiles in every room. Hairdryers provided. The second bedroom has a single bed, (standard Single size so does accommodate an adult, the same as the other single bedroom above), fitted wardrobe and shelves. It overlooks the garden. 2) Up further to the second floor (steep steps) there are two further attic style bedrooms. One has a double bed, feature cast iron fireplace (disused), shelves & drawers and a desk, with a front aspect above the Cherry tree. The other one contains a raised solid wood single bed with a desk and play area underneath, fitted wardrobe and storage area, perfect for an older kid but large enough to sleep an adult too (standard single mattress size). It also has extensive elevated rear views over the garden. Please be aware of steep stairs up to the second floor (see photo) in case of mobility issues and especially with little socked feet! Please supervise your children on the steps. BATHROOM/ BATHE: The first floor bathroom has bath towels and toiletries so you don't need to worry about packing your own. Eco conscious Faith In Nature products of Rosemary, and Coconut scent. Shower over cast iron bath (with Lola the rubber duck) and double basin, heated towel rail. KIDDIWINKS: There are books, games and toys suitable for young children all around the house; please feel free to use them while you are staying at ours. Just be careful with the steep stairs coming down the top floor (see photo) especially with little socked feet! Please supervise your children on the steps. And the garden front gate near the road. We have a travel cot&blankets on request, and a foam bumper for toddlers’ comfort. GETTING HERE: Free on street parking. Or 10 minutes from Leeds train station by taxi. (EXTRAS: Early check in: £20 Late check out: £20 Just ask - We'll send an airbnb link to pay and confirm.) Guest access We are very easy to find in SatNav and are just off Lidgett Lane. Parking is free on the street, however every house has an unofficial parking spot. Ours is right by the big tree outside the metal gate of no 15. Please allow another space behind it and not block the drive way. If this is taken, please drive further up or down the street for more parking. Access to the house is via a key safe. The code will be sent to you on the morning of your check in date. Other things to note Bath towels and bedlinen is provided for the amount of guests you book for. Seating in the kitchen is for four plus two stools and high chair for baby :) Steep stairs to top floor.
