Combining antique furniture with natural fabrics, wonky Cornish stone walls and a quirky rustic edge, Bijou cottage exudes simple Cornish charm in abundance. The space The open-plan studio living space is the perfect place to both relax and reconnect with the important things in life. A private oasis away from the crowds yet just a short drive to a plethora of well-known hot spots, it’s an idyllic base to explore all that Cornwall has to offer. Whilst modest in size the extended layout has been purposely designed to afford guests zoned living; with private space to cook, dine, relax (and work if you must) despite its studio layout. Lazy days will drift by as lovebirds enjoy gentle jaunts to the coast or country rambles, while four-legged friends are welcomed with wagging tails. The local footpath sits just outside the doorstep and offers a short walk into the charming village of St Columb Major with several pubs, shops and cafes. Back at the cottage, miniature doorways open out to the private suntrap courtyard; an ideal spot to enjoy the Cornish sunshine with a tasty BBQ from the local butcher. The private bathroom with corner bath and shower over head is perfect for washing off sandy bodies after a day on any of the local beaches close by. BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS One double bed in the compact bedroom area to the end of the open plan studio and one bathroom with bath and shower overhead. Please note the bathroom whilst clean and tidy has a certain ‘vintage’ charm. PETS Two well-behaved dogs are welcome (as long as they like kisses from an overly friendly Labrador). We kindly request that dogs are not left unattended at the property and they are not allowed on the furniture. FAMILY Babes-in-arms are very welcome and we are happy to provide a travel cot and high chair on request. Please note whilst we love children the cottage layout is not suitable for crawling tots. EXTRA GUESTS Unfortunately we are not big enough to accommodate any extra guests inside the property however we do have a second sleeps two property that is attached and available on airbnb. The adjoining cottage is called Melody and can be found via our host profile. We often host groups of four guests across both properties and there is crockery and outdoor space for you to all comfortably enjoy an evening together. FACILITIES Wi-Fi internet, Smart 32’ Alexa TV, Bluetooth speaker, cosy blankets, charcoal barbecue, linen, towels Guest access There is off-road parking for one car at no extra cost. In true back-to-basics style, there is no washing machine, but there is a microwave, electric oven and hob, coffee machine, kettle, toaster, and an undercounter fridge with small freezer compartment. Other things to note We have several pets and young children living in the hamlet so we request guests take extra care on the country roads. CHECK IN DAYS During the peak months our check in days are fixed to Monday and Friday but do feel free to message if you are interested in alternative days for last minute out of season breaks.
