Pension Monkey Camp - Maya and Kip

These two rooms are in the main lodge next to the dining area. Maya and Kip are two double rooms with a large shared bath with Hot water. Adina is a single with it's own bathroom with hot water The space These rooms are all in the main Building where the kitchen and the dining hall is located. There's a large reading room and tables in case you want to play a game of cards or just watch TV Guest access The Large Man made Tank, Parakrama Samudraya. Most time of the year you could take a bath in the tank and maybe take our canoe out for a paddle for a small fee, or take a fishing boat out from next door to see will elephants gathering on the other side of the tank (seasonal) During your stay We have 3 of our research staff working full time at the camp as well as Professor Wolfgang Dittus who is the biologist with the Smithsonian Institution of the USA who is behind our project. We have a few help staff who cleans and cooks during the day. The research staff are back at the camp from 10am-3pm and would be able to answer any questions regarding tourism and of course of our research Other things to note Please note that the Entrance fee to the Polonnaruwa Nature Sanctuary/Archaeological grounds is USD 25 per adults and half of that for a child. The site office opens at 7.15am daily We have quite a few small mammals as well as over 100 species of birds right out side our premises in the small forest patch we have fought tooth and nail to preserve from the invading locals. You could walk in this patch during the day to watch birds or take a boat to the bird Island that we managed to legalize as a Bird Sanctuary 500m from the shores of the tank.
