Historic Poehlman House - 1st floor bedroom
The Historic Poehlman house was finished in 1898 by Conrad Poehlman. Hand crafted into the hillside directly across from Abraham Lincoln’s tomb and rolling hills of the beautiful Oakridge Cemetery. Mr. Poehlman raised 7 boys and 3 girls in the 3 story brick home. Standing tall and modest at the very end of the street of a very quiet neighborhood. The rooms are spacious but cozy enough to make you feel right at home. The space This bedroom is a Large fully furnished room on the first floor right off of the Parlor with a fireplace and a ceiling fan. It has a queen bed, 2 night stands, dressers and a place to hang things up. It also has a tv along with wireless internet. There is a half bath on the first floor, but the main bathroom with large walk in shower is on the second floor. Minutes from downtown, hospitals, shopping and tourist attractions. After a long day of exploring the town, relax and have a soak in the hot tub off the large back deck, or just sit by the fire and listen to some music. Dogs are allowed but must check the box and notify me of how many. There is a pet fee that will be added. Be sure to check out the second floor room if your dates aren’t available for this room. Guest access Full use of the kitchen, laundry, sitting areas and back deck with hot tub and fire pits. Plenty of well lit parking out front. During your stay I’m always doing something around the house, so I will be around or in and out. I love hosting guests and socializing. My dogs Booth is a big love bug. He will love on you the minute he meets you. Pip is deaf but knows a little bit of sign language. He can be skittish at first but will warm up. Especially if big brother Booth is around. Other things to note Be sure to bring your swim suits. I’m also close to a few excellent bike/walking trails, so if you have room for your bike... Also, be sure to check out the Frank Lloyd Wright House, Designed for Springfield socialite Susan Lawrence Dana, built in 1902. The Old State Capital and The State Capital Building have tours as well. There is also a Lincoln souvenir shop a block away.
