Private room in beautiful old house, Ballston Spa.
My place is a 5 min. drive to SPAC and 10 min. to the track. It is within walking distance of Ballston Spa antique stores and restaurants, and a short drive to Saratoga Springs with live music, the race track, dining, coffee shops and bookstores. It is a quick walk to the small town park with a playground and a canoe and kayak launch along the Kayaderosseras River. The space SPAC has published a calendar of concerts and shows, some of which are taking place outdoors under a tent at Pitney Meadows Farm (chamber music) which is about 3/4 mile from SPAC. I don't know how many people will be able to attend live concerts but they are scheduled. My place is a 5 min. drive to SPAC and 10 min. to the track. Please be fully vaccinated if you plan to book this room. I am vaccinated. The house is within walking distance of Ballston Spa, and a short drive to and from Saratoga Springs. If you have a child, please contact me to arrange sleeping accommodations. I will provide coffee and tea, and the house is close to several breakfast spots. This is a nice old house in Ballston Spa. The bedroom is large and the bed is comfortable. There is a closet where you can put your clothes, and a luggage rack and coat hook. The bathroom is shared, and has plenty of towels and hot water. The kitchen is large and the living room has a comfy down couch. You are welcome to use the kitchen, including pots and pans, cutting board, silverware and dishes. You may keep things in the fridge and freezer, which is shared space, and cook using the gas stove or oven. Ballston Spa is an old town and many of the buildings are historic. It has a Bottle Museum, the Brookside history museum and a farmer's market on Thursdays and Saturdays. People are friendly, and there are lots of birds and lovely natural surroundings. There is an apple orchard nearby where you can buy vegetables. please see the guide book for this listing for more places to go in the area. Saratoga Springs has tons of activities and night life and it is very busy in August. In addition to the race track, there is an art museum at Skidmore college (Tang Museum), the Arts Center, which shows films as well as hosting gallery shows, the Museum of Racing, Museum of Dance, Yaddo, which is a writer's retreat you can tour, a small jazz club and Caffe Lena, which is a folk coffeehouse. There is also Saratoga Performing Arts Center which has rock, rap, hip-hop, country and pop concerts as well as the ballet and symphony seasons and Jazz Festival. There is a state park where you can hike or jog, and a long bike trail (Zim Smith). In Ballston Spa there is a county fair in July, Irish festival in September and balloon festival in June. If you want a pleasant refuge from being in Saratoga, while being able to make a short trip to reach it, there is plenty of space here in the house and back yard. Guest access You can use the kitchen, living room and porches, just please keep them clean and wash your dishes. There is a french press coffee maker and tea available any time, with milk and sugar. You can bring food in and cook or order in. During your stay I will be available if you have any questions or want directions. You can use the wifi to do research but if you don't have an internet device I will help. Other things to note You can park in the driveway. The nearest hospital is in Saratoga Springs. The nearest fire station is half a block away from here. The nearest mailbox is at CVS, rte. 50 going toward Saratoga Springs. breakfast options include: Iron Roost on Front St. in Ballston Spa until 2 pm Coffee Planet on Malta Ave.& Milton in Ballston Spa (6 min. walk into town) until 3 pm Russell's Deli weekdays across Milton Ave. at the end of this street.
