The farm is a quiet, private, peaceful place with 30 acres to roam, but still close to Dorset and Manchester. Fields, mountains and a pond are all here. The space The apartment is a fully renovated unit adjoining a classic New England barn. The sleeping/living area is sunny, comfy and cozy. A studio style set up with a full-size bed and a bathroom with shower and tub. There is a bumpout for coats and shoes. (The sheets are high thread count with cotton for the summer and flannel for the winter.) There is a breakfast nook complete with a Nespresso machine, microwave, small refrigerator and electric kettle. I provide tea, coffee and a snack. Please note that there is NO kitchen, but there are MANY restaurants and general stores in nearby Dorset and Manchester with every type of food imaginable! There is also NO tv, but the apartment has excellent internet through VTel's fiberoptic cable. You do live near the chickens so expect to hear the cluckings in the summer. The farm is green and powered by solar so you will be participating in sustainable travel when you stay! I recycle, compost, use all natural cleaning products and wash all blankets/comforters EVERY time. You will enjoy strolling among the pastures, exploring the crystal clear brook, swimming in the brook-fed pond, and walking the abutting scenic backcountry roads. The farm is a special place where you can relax and immerse yourself in nature, animals and peace. There's a hammock, swings and a pond-side pergola. Do not miss the stargazing! The farm and nearby Merck Forest are perfect for xc skiing and snowshoeing in the winter months and hiking in the summer. I have bikes, kayaks, snowshoes and sleds if you would like to borrow. You must get out of your car to open and close the gate. This is to ensure the safety of the horses. We care about the planet and try to be as green as we can! Please do think about the environment and turn off lights/fans/AC when you go out. Close windows when the heat/AC is on. The farm has an automatic generator which means that if power goes out in the area, you will still have electricity.
