Pinecone Pond

Nestled in the heart of southern Vermont, Pinecone Pond is a truly special getaway that offers great views, large pond, babbling brook, privacy, and a short ride to Mt Snow, Stratton, Putney, or Brattleboro! The space 10 minutes from Brattleboro, 15 minutes from Putney, and about 30 minutes to Mt Snow, 45-50 minutes to Stratton. The house is in a secluded spot with a pond and a stream running through the backyard. Its the perfect place for a romantic getaway for a couple, or for a family vacation. We hope you will come experience life here for a little while. It has a lot of special charm! There are apple trees in the backyard and goldfish swimming in the pond (along with the salamanders and frogs :) The brook is right by the house, so it will lull you to sleep at night. There are big windows throughout the house, so you can enjoy the view and fall asleep bathed in moonlight! The stars are amazing at night! There's a fire pit for roasting marshmallows, and yes, we have skewers! The house is situated on a non-through road, so there's little traffic. You will fall asleep to the babbling brook (or the spring peeper frogs!) and awaken to the chirping of birds. The house itself has an awesome woodstove that will heat the entire upper floors. The house also has propane heat, so no need to worry if wood stoves seem too troublesome. This is a perfect house for a couple looking for a getaway, but it can also accommodate families as well. We have 1 king size bed and 2 queen size beds. There are 2 full bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, a large deck with a grill, and 3 exits to the great outdoors. We have wifi and roku so you can decide to tune in or tune out. Guest access You have total access to the property, which includes the pond, brook, garage, backyard shed, bridge, and deck. You also have total access to the house including the washer/dryer, basement tv/rec room, and fully stocked kitchen (dishwasher, oven, coffee maker, fridge, toaster). We'll make sure there's coffee, cream, fresh eggs, and butter awaiting your first morning at Pinecone! Other things to note Access to the bedroom on the 3rd floor, has a steeper staircase than is the norm. If you, or anyone in your group have trouble climbing stairs we recommend you plan on staying in one of the 2nd floor bedrooms. The main floor does not have a bathroom (one is in basement, and one on second floor), so anyone staying here will need to be able to use stairs.
