Hicks Farm accomodation

Hicks Farm accommodation offers a unit that has a bedroom and living room with your own bathroom 15m away along the outside deck. You are sharing the property with our family, the pet sheep and the local kiwi. We are a 20min walk from the centre of Oban, over a couple of hills. Please consider this before booking. Transfers are available with Aurora cabs, please contact them direct. If walking, backpacks are best and don't forget your rain jacket, it has been known to rain here! The space The unit has one bedroom with a queen bed. There is a door from here to the outside. Adjacent is your living room with a couch, freeview tv and table and chairs. There is also a toaster, jug, coffee plunger and mini fridge. We have plates/bowls, cups, glass's and cutlery. There is no running water in the bedroom/sleeping unit, but I provide 2 containers of fresh water and can refill daily. There is no microwave, hotplate or oven. Your private bathroom is in the back of an adjacent building, approximately 10m along a deck, up 5 steps and another 5m along the deck. We have solar lights along the decking but recommend you bring a torch: essential kiwi spotting kit! Guest access The quickest way to walk to town is 20min, there is also the longer way, 45min. In town you can hire electric bikes and use them to zip in and out. You can hire cars from Stewart Island Experience. Aurora Cabs are always available to drop you here/pick you up. Please consider the distance we are from town. We love it out here (and so do the kiwi!), but some guests seem surprised that we are not in town. if you're not comfortable walking 20min to town, you might want to look at places closer in Other things to note please note there are no cooking facilities in the unit or running water (there is running water in the bathroom of course). we wash your dishes for you and provide drinking water that we refill as you require
