Description

Charming rustic cabin over looking the village of Portholland. Set in a private garden, sea view on one side, wooded valley on the other. Perfect for get away from it all. Near Eden Project & Heligan Gardens. Tranquility assured. Private decking for al fresco dining or star watching. Perfect location for coastal path walks. Sorry no dogs because of allergies The space Please read FULLY before booking :) The cabin is totally secluded and set in a lovely private garden over looking the stunning bay of Portholland. The cabin is the perfect cosy place for a retreat/ meditation break/ or romantic get away. Drift off to sleep to the sound of the waves below. It offers the perfect blend of getting away from it all & life’s hectic schedule yet still being able to reach the outside world if you wish. The decking area is perfect for some al fresco dining whilst enjoying the spectacular views of the sea and village. It's also a fabulous platform for star gazing. Take out your hot chocolate and be amazed at the shooting stars on a clear night! Portholland also has a lovely tidal beach which is safe for swimming and canoeing. If you have a SUP board, bring it to explore the hidden coves on each side of Portholland! Spacious double bed. Linen and bath towels included. Hot shower and flush toilet. Unfortunately our toilet system can’t handle toilet paper/ sanitary products - a bin is provided for these. If you want to hole up for a few days, make sure you bring enough provisions etc as the nearest shop/s are a 15 min drive away in Tregony and Veryan. WIFI. Signal is very good, possible to stream Netflix etc with no problems. Only 1 double bed, but space for a travel cot for young child or blow up mattress ( for a child) * Please note that there is an extra fee of £10 per child per night. * During Autumn the footpaths get very muddy so I recommend boots. Please note there is no oven, just a small gas stove (2) microwave, slow cooker, toaster, sandwich toaster. Not suitable for dogs Please note - Think European when it comes to our toilet! Toilet paper & sanitary products must go in the bin provided. We have a very basic toilet system which blocks easily. A bin with special bags are supplied. The television has free view. WiFi works well for streaming on your devices or through the tv Cold water only from the kitchen & bathroom tap Hot shower :) Please .... please don’t message me asking if you can bring your dog! After a guests unfortunate accident involving candles, I respectfully ask that you do not bring / use candles in the cabin. There is a village car park which from Spring 2021 will be a pay and display car park. £15 for a week. Price per night is for 2 Unfortunately it isn’t possible to park outside or near the cabin. Parking is in the village car park with a 5 minute walk up a hill to the cabin. There is a machine in the car park to pay by either cash or card. The shower room isn’t a wet room, please use the shower curtain to keep the water inside of the shower tray! Gas stoves are self igniting, just turn the knob until it clicks Guest access microwave, mini fridge, mini gas stove, toaster, slow cooker for hot pots, WiFi, DVD player. Kettle , pots n pans Other things to note Please read BEFORE booking ;) *** The cabin is situated in the countryside, sometimes guests will leave the door & windows open during the summer while they sit out on the decking or wander down to the beach, this is perfectly fine and perfectly safe, ( and creates a lovely relaxed vibe) howEVER, guests must be aware that if you do this, there is always a possibility that wildlife could come inside. We have had happy reports of pheasants, birds, a frog, a hedgehog, a mouse and a local cat coming on the decking & even inside when the door has been left open! Paradoxically I had a guest who wasn’t happy that a mouse managed to get in and was completely freaked out about this. I have lived in the countryside for most of my life and I understand that these things happen, it’s the countryside, and it doesn’t bother me. If something like the above would bother you then the cabin may not be for you. *** I supply linen & towels. But not beach towels. I also supply tea, coffee, milk, cereal. I advise guests to bring food supplies and to bring a back pack for ease when walking up to the cabin. Also a torch in case you go out after dark. The nearest pub is in Portloe, 10 mins drive from the village. The nearest supermarkets are Tesco, Sainsbury’s or Waitrose in Truro or Asda & Tesco in St Austell. During Autumn I recommend wellies or good walking shoes for coastal path walking as it can get a bit muddy. Please note that our flushing toilet can't handle sanitary products or toilet paper. A bin is provided for these things next to the toilet. Before booking, please understand that the cabin isn't 5 star holiday accommodation- it's a warm, cosy, comfortable, basic cabin in an outstanding location. If rustic isn't for you, please don't book :) We don’t accept bookings for under 21 SORRY NO DOGS please read directions thoroughly so you don’t end up in my neighbours garden. Of course to get such a lovely view, you need to walk up a hill.... it’s not far & only takes a few mins from the car parking area. If you struggle with hills then this isn’t the place for you. Please be aware that during the summer months, foliage around the decking is at its fullest, this means that if you’re sitting on the decking you won’t be able to see the sea unless you’re standing! After a guests unfortunate accident involving candles, I respectfully ask that you do not bring / use candles in the cabin.
