SARUYA - Twin Room #7 in Modern Traditional Hostel

Our private room features 1 to 2 futon beds on traditional tatami floors. The shared areas include bathrooms, dining space and a work/lounge/library area. The hostel Saruya Hostel opened in 2015 in Fujiyoshida, a city at the bottom of Mt Fuji. We renovated an 80 years old wooden house to create a place that allows our guests to experience time and space through carefully selected art, design and objects, mixing traditional Japanese inspiration with modern aesthetics. The space Shared facilities Bathrooms Our shared bathrooms include shower rooms and sink areas. The hostel will provide our guests with towels, body wash, shampoo as well as hair dryers and q-tips. We also sell eco-friendly bamboo toothbrushes. Working Space We have a couple of desks with outlets available to people who need to work at their laptop. Our fast internet and relaxed atmosphere make for a comfortable working environment. Library & Lounge Our library is stocked with Japanese and English books and magazines on art, design and lifestyle, as well as some comic books. You can enjoy a read sitting comfortably in our lounge area. Coffee & Tea Saruya offers, free of charge, coffee, green tea and herbal tea from local growers “MYHERBS”. MYHERBS is a young company who started growing herbs and producing their blends in the Yamanashi region. We are happy to offer custom blends created by Saruya and MYHERBS. Breakfast We offer a breakfast at our cafe called "FabCafe Fuji", it takes 2 min on foot from SARUYA. You have some choices and we can serve it for vegitalian. Linen Saruya Hostel collaborates with Tenjin Factory who has made linen products for a 100 years. Saruya uses their 100% linen high quality blanket covers and guests in twin rooms can also enjoy their towels. Bike rental For 500 yens per day you can use one of our bicycles which is a great way to discover our neighborhood and city, full of little gems. A ride around the Kawaguchi lake is highly recommended with plenty of interesting stops and treats along the way. Check-in & Check-out Check in time is from 2pm to 6pm. Please make sure to arrive before 6pm as you will be welcomed by our staff on your arrival. Check out time is before 10am. We can keep your luggage before Check-in and after Check-out. If you need your luggage to be held for a longer time, we can do so for a small fee. Guest access Our staff is here to welcome you during check-in time, between 2pm and 6pm.
