The space Welcome to Rimbick, a picturesque village nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas. Here, you can escape the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy the serene beauty of nature. Our comfortable stay options are designed to cater to your needs and ensure a peaceful and relaxing experience. Meghmala Homestay is located away in Singalila National Park in a spacious environment. It is surrounded by majestic views of West Sikkim and Darjeeling town. It lies away from the chaos and crowds of Darjeeling (56 km) and the sweltering heat of Siliguri (116 km). If you are tired of the narrow winding roads of Darjeeling and want to venture away from the city, then Rimbick is the perfect getaway to clear your mind and refresh your soul. Whether you want to go hiking, camping, walking in the forests or simply reconnect with nature, Rimbick offers you various options to choose from. The homestay has three bedrooms. The bedrooms are situated on the second floor and offer a quiet secluded spot for families and friends to hang out. There is a balcony adjoining the bedrooms. One can unwind here throughout the day. The homestay is situated away from the main market. The roads leading to the homestay are motorable and easily accessible. Our family-friendly accommodations and activities will keep everyone entertained, and you will get a taste of rural life in the mountains. Rimbick's major attractions are for trekking from Darjeeling or a nearby trek to the national park – it is one of the major stops along the road, including the famous trek to Sandpakphu. Sandakphu is the highest point in West Bengal and is famous for tourists as it offers a majestic view of Mt Everest and Mt Khanchendzonga, the world's highest and third-highest mountain ranges. Rimbick offers many trekking routes to nearby areas like Manedara, Srikhola (river spot), Gurdum and Gorkhey-Samandin. The clean air and scenic views are perfect for long walks, and you can explore nearby hiking spots for a more adventurous experience. One of the unique features of Rimbick is the availability of fresh vegetables. You can indulge in farm-to-table meals and savour the delicious taste of locally grown produce. Rimbick is also perfect for stargazing, night photography and bird watching in the nearby national park. The hamlet is basically situated atop a mountain that overlooks the River Ramman that flows from Sikkim into Bengal. It could be described as the last major habitation on the Bengal side of the border. It is located in close proximity to both Nepal and Sikkim. The rooms are cosy, capacious and well-maintained for our guests, fitted with modern amenities like geysers. The balcony overlooks the entire town of Darjeeling and West Sikkim making it a delightful location for catching up with your loved ones or indulging in some reading in our rooms, balcony or kitchen table. Do check with us. The guests can also the book the entire 3 bedroom floor, the kitchen and the lounging rooms to themselves. During your stay We believe in respecting the space and privacy of our customers so the hosts would be available if and when you call on them. You can contact me via phone or email. We can even provide you with a local guide if in case you need one. Other things to note 1. Winters can be a bit chilly, so we would recommend bringing some warm woollen clothes if you are planning to visit during Nov-March. 2. We receive many requests from travellers who believe our homestay is in Sandakphu. Please note that Rimbick is situated in the foothills of Sandakphu and is typically the last stop for travellers taking a car back to Darjeeling or Siliguri. If you plan to hike downhill from Sandakphu to Rimbick, it takes around 8 hours. 3. We offer both veg and non-veg food, which will be billed separately. We do have a provision for cooking if guests prefer to prepare their own meals. Additionally, food items are readily available nearby in the market (just a 5-minute walk away). 4. If you have any special requests, please let us know in advance so that we can make the necessary arrangements. 5. Although we do not offer in-house wifi, we provide a jio-fi dongle with excellent internet speed. Please take a look at the internet test report screenshot we have posted for reference. Rest assured, we have hosted multiple work-from-home guests in the past, so you do not have to worry about the speed. 6. If you need to book seats in a shared taxi or reserve an entire car from Siliguri/Darjeeling, please let us know beforehand so we can make the necessary arrangements. 7. Our homestay is on the second floor, while we live on the first floor. We want you to know that it is safe for women solo travellers looking to visit Rimbick or hike to/from Sandakphu.
