Safe little haven, mountain views & deep soak bath

Y Cwtsh is a compact all-in-one studio space suitable for couples, solo travellers, or friends who are happy to share the bed. THE SOFA BED PULLS OUT INTO A DOUBLE BED TO SLEEP A MAXIMUM OF TWO PEOPLE. The deep soak Japanese Omnitub is accessed within the living space. Kitchen equipment and everything you need to self cater is provided. You’ll find a selection of teas, fresh coffee & seasoning for cooking. In the mini fridge, there are some continental breakfast items for you to enjoy. The space You have the self-contained living space that is Y Cwtch Dan Star to yourselves, which is accessed via the side entrance of the main house and you have your own private entrance. The only shared space is the back garden where you might see me from time to time hanging up laundry and carrying out garden maintenance. You may also meet our whippet, Suki, our 6 cats, Suli, Villanelle, Ganesh, Hedwig, Orpheus & Eurydice who’s nicknamed Dacey! They are all very friendly. Otherwise the space is yours to enjoy during your stay. As the place is compact, I provide a watertight storage box just outside Y Cwtsh for you to store things and free up room space. You will also find huge waterproof storage bags that are for your use to store additional items. Your bed is usually already made up for you, although it may be in sofa position. It easily turns into a bed by pulling it away from the wall, bringing the head of it up and forward when you’ll hear a click, then release to lie flat… Pulling the loop at the foot of the sofa bed, bring it out into the space, then pull the section up towards you, then fold the bottom section of the sofa bed out to join the other sections. All 3 parts should be level. If you need me to help you with this, please let me know. I am more than happy to do this for you, especially if you’ve been out for the evening, so all you have to do on your return is enjoy a good night’s sleep. Guest access Parking is on street only directly outside the main house. There are no parking fees. Guest access via side gate of main house. Guests have their own private self-contained entrance which is accessed by key pad. Your key code and access instructions will be provided by message inbox on the day of your trip. Y Cwtsh Dan Star is unfortunately not suitable for guests with severe mobility issues as there is a step down to access the guest space and the deep soak bath tub may also cause a problem for those with accessibility issues. Other things to note There is a local woodland nature reserve - Ynys Dawela Nature Park which is 5 mins walk from Y Cwtsh as well as plenty of mountain walks close by. The Black Mountain Centre is 5 mins walk from here, which has a cafe and gallery. There are two pubs in the immediate locality, namely, The Bridge and The Tregib, respectively. Unfortunately, neither do food. The Tregib however has an arrangement with local takeaways so you can eat in at the pub whatever you choose to order drom outwide. Both have outdoor spaces, the Tregib having a beer garden out the back. There are also several take away and delivery services available in the local areas of Brynamman and GCG, including Eastern Star, a wonderful Indian takeaway and delivery. Main shopping for groceries etc is in the nearest towns of Ystalyfera, Ystradgynlais, Ammanford, respectively, approximately 20 mins drive from Y Cwtsh. Village shops and post office are only 5 mins walk. There is also a fuel station on Station Road, which is also a mini market, selling general groceries, alcohol and other regular supplies.
