@ Campania (peace, beauty, comfort)
Description
Light breakfast provisions for your first two nights breakfasts, plus tea, ground coffee, milk 🍎🍌🍊🥖🍞🧈🍯🧃🥛☕️🫖 Relax & unwind in your own private, peaceful & spacious self-contained studio apartment @ Campania, nestled in 1.5 acres of tranquil gardens, adjacent to the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Gardens (formerly the Rhododendron Gardens) in Olinda, the most picturesque village in the Dandenong Ranges. So much to see & do! The space Campania is a truly beautiful property. The really large sandstone character house is centred within a 1.5 acre garden that was established 60 odd years ago by a talented horticulturist and is surrounded by soaring Mountain Ash (eucalyptus trees). Within the house is an old 1950s house, brought here 60+ years ago! The spacious apartment @ Campania is in a totally private wing of the house and has its own parking, path, veranda & entrance. All of the gardens at Campania are freely available for guests to wander in, have a picnic or to sip an evening drink! Sometimes there are ducks on the pond in the front garden! Campania is set well back from a long ‘no through’ road, a short walk from the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Gardens (formerly the Rhododendron Gardens). It is only a 7 minute walk (2 min drive) to Olinda village. There is a very comfortable queen bed with plenty of pillows, doona (duvet), white sheets & electric blanket. Heating & cooling is via a reverse-cycle air conditioner, extra cooling via a ceiling fan. A great little kitchenette with a sink, bar fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, induction hot plate, rice cooker & toaster oven. A BBQ & sandwich maker is available, just ask! Tea, freshly ground coffee, milk plus oil, sauces etc are provided. Breakfast provisions for two mornings are provided (see description). Coffe, breakfast & other meals are available at nearby Olinda Cafe, Dudley’s, the Deli Platter, & the Ranges Cafe. And Sassafras, Mt Dandenong, Kallista & Belgrave are an easy drive away. We love the Kallista Deli & Cork at Cooks! We have set a minimum of 2 nights when booking but feel free to ask if a one-night booking is available. We may offer a discount for 4+ night stays - please ask. Guest access The views over the garden are lovely and guests are welcome, & encouraged, to share every nook & cranny. Although a clothes rack is provided (& washing machine) guests are welcome to use the outdoor clothesline. A clothes dryer is available on site - just ask. Feel free to pick herbs & lemons from the vegie garden. Parking is onsite, not under cover. Other things to note Tipsy, our 14 y.o. cat and Warrior our 5 year old Golden Retriever live on the property & very occasionally we mind our sons’ dog. Warrior rarely barks, is friendly but a little wary of strangers for the first 5 minutes, and he & Tipsy are either inside (when we are & at certainly overnight) or in the huge fenced back garden. Tipsy spends her days wherever she wants, inside and out (but not in the apartment!) but is inside from 5pm to 7am. If you don't wish to interact with them you will still have the very large front garden to enjoy.
