Peaceful, centrally-located 2-bedroom retreat sleeps up to five guests. Surrounded by edible gardens this oasis is within walking distance to EVERTHING, including downtown, parks, groceries and shopping. Bedrooms overlook private garden area and feature California King and Queen size beds. A full size air mattress and pump is available to sleep a fifth guest in the living room or office. Art supplies, cookbooks, a range of kitchen gadgets and a fully stocked pantry are available to guests! The space Surrounded on all sides of the home are floral, herbal and vegetable gardens. Greenery and natural beauty are able to be viewed from every room in the home. Privacy fencing borders the property on three sides. Guests will have exclusive access to 5+ raised garden beds of berries, vegetables, herbs and flowers to pick from each day. (No chemicals or fertilizers are used in the management of this land.) Plant life ensures frequent sightings of wildlife around this suburban oasis including hummingbirds, rabbits and white tailed deer. Inside is an eclectic collection of original folk art from the owner's multi-cultural family backgrounds. The kitchen overlooks an herb garden and features a gas stove, dishware, pots and pans, and a plethora of cooking utensils. Guests will be able to brew your own coffee or take a short walk to the nearest coffee stand or neighborhood watering hole. A spare room has a dedicated office / work / art space. The desk allows guests to work remotely, if necessary. Other laptop friendly remote work areas include several shady spots throughout the gardens, patio or inside with the use of portable tabletops. Art supplies onsite include trinkets, paints, canvasses, drawing materials and fabrics. The closed-in garage just off the kitchen houses a washer/dryer. Windows and door leading outside are all screened in ensuring you can open up to the outside without letting the outside fly in! The central heating and A/C unit is programmable to fit your schedule to ensure the house is always set to keep you at the temp most comfortable. Food forest surrounding the property includes berries, herbs, vegetables and flowers. BERRIES: Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, Hawthorne, goji berry, elderberry, apricot cherries and grapes. VEGETABLES: Tomatoes (multiple varies), eggplant, carrots, potatoes, onion, artichoke, cucumbers, pickling cucumbers, zucchini, squash and pumpkin. GREENS: Lettuce (various varieties), kale (various varieties), chives and crinkly, crumbly greens. HERBS: Spearmint, sage, mugwort, marjoram, lovage, curry, rosemary, lemon balm, chamomile, feverfew and lavender. FLOWERS: Sunflowers, lilac, echinacea, peonies, crocosmia, and tiger lilies. TREES: Peach, plum, and cherry. Friendly neighborhood. Lounge or get lost in the gardens with private spaces to bask in the sun or retreat to one of several shaded areas under the grape arbor or old cherry tree out back. Patio furniture and seating benches are placed throughout the gardens allowing guests to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding landscape and urban wildlife. A Smoker/Grill is available for guests to do some outdoor cooking. On main bus lines and within moments of Farmer's Market, Marina, the Capitol Campus or the Evergreen State College. Guest access Within walking distance to lots of natural beauty! A 5-minute walk to views of the Puget Sound, Mt. Rainer, the Capitol Building, and Capital Lake. Main bus lines are within a block of the front door and run regularly. Fair is FREE! Street parking is ample. Other things to note Yard maintenance provided. Garden beds blooming and full of food and medicinal herbs! Garden maintenance provided bi-monthly during growing seasons. As a courtesy, the pantry will be stocked with breakfast items and basic cooking essentials to ensure you start your stay stress-free!
