Old Farmhouse offers a tranquil place to stay. The room has its own separate staircase & away from the main part of the house, offering peace & quiet. A king sized bed, quality bedlinen, en-suite shower, warm soft towels & bath robes you are guaranteed a refreshing nights sleep. Tea, coffee, fresh milk & selection of breakfast cereals. The en-suite has a powerful shower, heated towel rail, loo & handbasin. We provide towels, bath robes, shower gel, shampoo, hair dryer, TV & internet access. Outside the bedroom is a lobby area with microwave, fridge with fresh milk & bottled water. A kettle, a supply of tea, fresh coffee as well as instant, also a selection of fruit and herbal teas. Old Farmhouse, as the name suggests, was once a working farm. The many fruit trees, disused cattle yard, old stone barns in the grounds are testiment to that. The house dates back to around the 18th century. Guest access Grendon is a beautiful English village within the county of Northamptonshire. Right on our doorstep you can access many wonderful rural walks. Only a 2 minute drive, visit Castle Ashby Gardens, 35 acres designed by Capability Brown, it features an impressive Arboretum, romantic Italian gardens, unique Orangery and a menagerie with a family of meerkats, marmosets, giant tortoise, miniature pony along with goats, rabbits & pigs. It also boosts a large wooden children’s play area. Book an hour long open swim session in the fresh water lake on the Castle Ashby estate. Also in Castle Ashby, the Rural Shopping Yard, has a variety of shops in old converted farm buildings. The Deli is an ideal place for not only buying local produce but for cooked breakfast, cream teas and lunch’s. Yardley Hastings, the next door village, has a great traditional pub The Rose & Crown. They serve good pub food. The market town of Olney - 10 minutes drive, famous for its Pancake Race, is well worth a visit for its many independent shops, antiques, coffee stops and restaurants.
