As you enter the property you will walk over hundreds of years of history, with a secret smugglers tunnel under the hallway floor. It has the original ceiling beams and fire place with log burner in the living room as well as the original stairs, (which are very steep). The wooden beams between the living room and kitchen were salvaged from a ship wreck, The Olga which sank in 1849, in Mumbles bay itself. There were hidden passages for smugglers, beneath the cottage and path outside that led to the pub that his now The George. During a recent renovation Hispanic coins dated 1845 were found in a hidden compartment in the floor. It has been lovingly updated to keep its original character yet providing all modern amenities. The living room is open plan to the dining area, which leads onto the modern kitchen breakfast room extension. The ground floor shower room is just off the kitchen. Away from the history of the property is the newly refurbished garden, with sun terrace, hot tub and views over Swansea Bay. Up the steep steps to the first floor, is an elegant main double bedroom and a spacious ensuite WC/Dressing room. We offer hotel standard linen and towels which are replaced after each stay.
