Description
A traditional dales cottage in the Wensleydale village of Aysgarth, home to the world famous Aysgarth Falls just 800m away and the Aysgarth Rock Garden. A great base for two for sight seeing, walking or just chilling. The village has a pub/restaurant (15min walk) and a tearoom The cottage has all the modern facilities you need for cosy nights in and a rear patio/garden for barbeque evenings. The cottage is dog friendly, he or she cannot get out if in the garden. The space A traditional stone built terraced dales cottage. On the ground floor there is a comfortable lounge with TV, CD, DVD and internet router. Go through to the back and you find a modern kitchen complete with Washing Machine and Dish Washer, a full cooker, a modern combi, oven microwave and grill and ample kitchen equipment. Keep going out of the back door into a fully enclosed rear garden, about 1/3 paved and 1/3 grass. (with respect to the grass, don't expect Wimbledon Centre court or ask what the host does for a living!). However, the great thing here is that you can let your pooch out in total safety as the garden has no means by which he/she can escape. We just ask that you pick up any poo and pop it in the dustbin before you leave so that its nice and clean for the next doggy visitors. There is also a barbecue and some pine garden chairs out on the patio. Upstairs, the bed room and bathroom are accessed by a fairly steep staircase. This probably would not suit guests with restricted mobility. Turn left at the top of the stairs to access the bedroom with its king size bed and view out into the village. Across the small landing (you can actually stride across it without touching it) you come into our magnificent new bathroom with a large corner bath and separate shower cubicle in the opposite corner. Heating and hot water are provided by electric storage heaters and an immersion heater. In the winter this can be supplemented by a back boiler in the front room behind the fire place. So all very cosy. We hope you enjoy Cherry Tree as much as we do. By the way, as you can see, Cherry Tree cottage has just about everything you need for a stay in the dale, the one thing it doesn't have however is a Cherry Tree! Guest access There is ample on street parking in Aysgarth. There is a parking area immediately in front of he cottage where there is usually space. There is a bus that goes up and down the length of the dale from Leyburn to Hawes (Its called "The Little White Bus", unfortunately a change of equipment recently means that two of them are "Little Silver Busses". In the Summer you can even catch a steam train up and down the dale from Redmire station just across the other side of the River Ure. Actually its only called The Ure if you are an Anglo Saxon. You will also see it referred to as The Yore its Viking name. Other things to note We have super fast broadband in Aysgarth and WiFi throughout the cottage. Linked to the smart tv or plug into your device and you can stream all your favourite programs on demand. But why would you? If the night sky is clear, there will a free show. Go out the back and watch our Galaxy the Milky Way stretch from left to right in front of your very eyes.
