Book just one or a pair of luxurious bedrooms

Welcome to Copperstones! We are Jess & Ash. We live here in our refurbished home with our small daughter, 2 young cats and a flock of backyard hens. We are located just 5mins walk from Dorchester town, 8 miles from Weymouth & the stunning Jurassic coastline. Dorchester itself is a friendly county town with a range of restaurants and bars, as well as fantastic transport links within walking distance of our home, to Bristol, Bath, London, etc. The space * IMPORTANT - Please make sure you read the full listing details to ensure that you book correctly depending whether you and your guests require just one bedroom or both bedrooms. * About our accommodation: The Airbnb guest spaces are all on the ground floor. The main bedroom (and larger of the two ) is called 'Trevally' and has a king-sized futon-style bed with extra-deep mattress, The interior decoration is classic yet modern, painted in calming Farrow and Ball colours. If you book for either ONE or TWO adults, you will be allocated this bedroom only. IF YOU SELECT MORE THAN TWO GUESTS WHEN BOOKING you will also be booking our second bedroom 'Caretta', which is next door to the first room. This room has a double bed, and is decorated with a stylish tropical wallpaper with a beach-side theme. The additional 'per person' charge that is automatically added covers the cost of booking this second room. To be clear, this means that if you are visiting with one friend and wish to have separate rooms, you need to select '3 guests' in order to book BOTH rooms. If you are unsure or have questions about this, please contact us. PLEASE NOTE that we do not run bookings alongside each other. If you only book the main bedroom, then the second room will be locked and empty. We are aware that this method of booking is a little clunky but it seems to be the only way for us to list the rooms using Airbnb's current system when taking into account the layout out of our spaces and exclusivity of our rooms. Both bedrooms feature a comfy chair, a TV (with terrestrial, iPlayer and Netflix) with remote control, a DAB radio (which has a universal adapter attached for playing your own music from your device), hot drink facilities (various teabags, coffee granules, milk and sugar sachets, water glasses, mugs and a kettle), hair-dryer, clothes storage including drawers and provision for hanging, a full length mirror, bin, fire extinguisher, somewhere handy to put your bags or suitcase and a selection of reading books. The main bedroom also has an iron, ironing board, spare pillows and first aid kit. The main bathroom is next door to the bedrooms and is for your exclusive use, shared by you and your guests. Features include a large roll-top tin bath (definitely big enough for two!) and huge walk-in wetroom, along with a roll-top tin sink and toilet. Please note that there is a single step into the bathroom. There is also a cloakroom next door to your bathroom, containing an additional toilet (shared with us) for when your partner is having a long soak in the main bathroom! We provide towels, robes and bathmats for your stay. We have recently finished paving and planting the small and private patio garden outside your bedrooms, and are pleased to now offer access to here for our guests. Please note that this is accessed through a French door in the Trevally room; therefore if you are booking both rooms, guests from the second bedroom will have to pass through Trevally in order to access the garden. In this garden - by Spring 2024 - we will have added comfortable outdoor seating for our guests to enjoy the outdoor space. The layout of our house is such that your bedrooms and bathroom occupy the front section of the ground-floor, we all share a main entrance and the internal corridors are used by all, but our own living accommodation downstairs and bedrooms upstairs feel separate to your own. Other than passing in the corridor occasionally we tend to keep ourselves to ourselves, but you are not in a separate annex. Note that your booking does not include access to our living quarters, namely the living room, kitchen and sitting room. Our Airbnb offering is very much a 'bed and breakfast' package, not a self-catering one. We should note at this juncture that we do have a young daughter born in 2020. She is a great sleeper and should not cause any disturbance during your stay, but we feel it is worth mentioning. We supply a breakfast bag every morning of your stay, delivered to your room. This contains (for each person) a piece of fresh fruit, a bottle of fresh juice or breakfast smoothie, and a granola bar/yoghurt and granola pot/porridge pot or similar. As mentioned above, please note that this is not a self-catering listing. If you prefer something cooked in the morning, there are plenty of wonderful breakfast options in the nearby town (5-10 mins walk away). We can also recommend plenty of lovely eateries and local pubs, and your room will hold information about transport routes and things to do while you are in West Dorset. You can find all this information in advance of your stay in our ‘Copperstones Guidebook’, found within this listing. One car can be parked on our drive safely - please swing round to the right on arrival and park in front of the wooden side gate. If you are bringing more than one car, the roads outside our house offer free parking at all times. There is a side gate with access directly into your patio garden. Once you have checked in via the front door, you are welcome to unload your luggage through this gate directly to your rooms for ease. We would recommend bringing slip-on shoes for moving from inside to out, as the French doors come straight in onto carpet and we ask that shoes are not worn indoors. Guest access Our house has a slope up to the front door (no steps), but has a small sill at the door itself. The bedroom and bathroom are both on the ground floor, but there is a single step up into the bathroom. The bedroom patio door again has a substantial sill that could be tricky - but not inaccessible -for wheelchair access, particularly if accompanied by an able-bodied person. Please also note that the bed in Trevally is a Japanese-style futon bed, and is therefore quite low, which may be difficult for some less-able guests. if you are booking just one room (1-2 guests) but would rather stay in the second bedroom which has a higher bed, please send us a private message to request this. During your stay We live here! So we are very happy to answer any questions you may have during your stay, subject of course to us being at home when you are. If you would like local information prior to your arrival, just ask. We will give you a mobile number to contact us on at anytime in case of problem/query, so you can be sure that you won't be left stranded or unsure at any time. The train and bus stations (Dorchester West and Dorchester South) are a very short walk away, but we can suggest taxi numbers if you'd rather catch a lift (unfortunately we have work vans only, so we don't have enough seats to pick you up ourselves). We are real foodies, so if you are stuck for a dinner solution, feel free to ask us in advance and - for a reasonable fee - we may be able to prepare dinner for you. Other things to note Please note that this listing is for private bedrooms with a private bathroom within our home. Hallways, entrances and an additional cloakroom toilet are shared with us. We live here, so we will be in residence during your stay, although we are happy to keep ourselves to ourselves, and your privacy is respected at all times. We can be as available as you would like us to be. Our kitchen, living room and dining room are not for your use, and that section of the house will usually be locked when we are not at home, as well as our own bedroom suite. In addition, you will have your own private patio garden, but ask that you don't roam throughout the rest of the garden.
