Hosts live in lower level ready to help when needed. View our photos and our excellent reviews. The space Our home is surrounded by trees and vine-covered fences which house many birds and squirrels. I love hearing their birdsongs and watching their antics from the deck. You will find our home restful, clean and attractive with many amenities including breakfast and laundry service. As you enter, everything is open and fresh with many plants and new flooring. Go through the shared 13'x13' kitchen and 15'x13' living room. Down the hall you'll find our 3 guest rooms with two sharing the full bathroom in the hall. It will be clean with many toiletries provided. There is signage of shared bathroom etiquette. The linen closet and master bedroom with en suite are also in the hall. Your 11'x9' room features art and books from the area, high speed internet, Wi-Fi, 32" Smart TV. Netflix is included (No Cable). Hand-crafted signage gives needed information on passwords, location of needed items and amenities. The shared area with cathedral ceilings includes a bright, eat-in/cook-in 13'x13' kitchen with new appliances and dining table. There are refrigerator bins to separate each guest's food. The cozy 15'x13' living room boasts a comfortable sectional. Many guests also enjoy relaxing at the tables and chairs on the deck in nice weather. The hosts have their private quarters in the lower level. They will greet you if they are in, but they let you have your privacy. Co-host/husband Bill works from home, so he is available and responsive if a need arises. Sherry works only 7 blocks away at the high school from 7-3. Self-served breakfast is always available. Help yourself to coffee, tea, cereal, toast, ,fruit and eggs. Sherry often bakes fresh muffins which you'll find on the breakfast counter. Guest access Our 28-year old home is tucked back in an older residential neighborhood 5 blocks off the main streets. GPS will guide you. Your uber/lyft driver will have not problem finding us. You can come down 25th or Herman St, but if you come down Megerle off Warren St, you won't have to turn around, just pull in. There's plenty of street parking on our side of the street. Two spaces in front of the house (between the driveway and stop sign) and several spaces down the street are available for our guests. Covington is over 200 years old and has some amazing areas, sites and restaurants. Only minutes away, our sister cities, Cincinnati and Newport, KY are waiting for you to explore, shop and dine. Florence, KY also offers great shopping and dining options. There are many great parks, trails on two rivers and attractions to enjoy. Living room, kitchen and dining area are cozy shared spaces as well as the deck. (Smoking is allowed on the deck with ashtray provided.) As many work guests have longer stays, Sherry provides complimentary laundry service. Just message her when you need laundry done. Doing your own cooking is allowed; we have a new stove and microwave. Each guest has space in the refrigerator/freezer for your food/drinks. Use the bins provided. Clean up is essential. Enjoy your cooking, but be considerate of others. During your stay We are a nice, friendly couple who enjoy meeting people from all walks of life. We will welcome you and do our best to accommodate your needs. Your stay can be as private as you like, but we love to interact with our guests as much as guests want. You may come and go as you please, being thoughtful of other work guests, who may be sleeping. If you have any questions, please message us. Our private quarters are in the lower level. We will respond quickly. We want you to have a great experience and stay! A light self-serve breakfast such as coffee, tea, toast, or cereal are always available. You may also find fresh muffins and fruit on the breakfast counter. You may use the stove and oven also to prepare your food. There is signage letting you know where to find things. You may eat at the dining table or on the patio. Please do not take food or drinks out of the kitchen to your room or the living room. Of course, water bottles are allowed everywhere. Other things to note We strive to provide a comfortable, clean, safe, pleasant and relaxing environment for you. We live in the lower level. Sherry uses the kitchen and her work space upstairs, so you'll often see her. She is fully vacinated. Bill works from his home office downstairs. He restores and sells vintage items. (Basement has a walk out/private entrance so you may not see him often.) Our home has three guest rooms, so you will meet other work guests coming and going. Everyone is considerate of everyone else. Quiet hours are between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Doing your own cooking is allowed. There is space in the refrigerator for your items in 3 labeled guest trays. Clean up the pans, stove, counter, table and dishes when finished. Enjoy your cooking, but be considerate of other guests and hosts. You are very welcome, and we want you to feel at home. However, no unregistered guests are permitted in our home. No parties or drop-ins allowed. Everyone must remove their shoes when they enter the house and only eat in the dining area to help keep the carpet clean. Help us with home security by locking both locks as you exit and enter. There are several restaurants within walking distance of the airbnb. Dixie Chili on Madison Ave are less than a mile/10-15 minute walk away. Mike's Fish & Chicken for takeout or delivery is always hot, fresh and delicious @ 16th and Madison. We highly recommend Bards Burgers and Chili "the dive that's worth the drive", featured on the Food Network, is only 1.3 miles/28 min walk. Restaurante Chapín is 1 mile away. A Kroger Grocery store is 2 miles away on Winston Ave. It's newly renovated and has a Starbucks. There's a smaller one on Madison Ave at 15th St. Open 6 a.m-10 p.m. There are 3 convenience stores in our neighborhood: Pike Food Mart @ 26th and Madison Ave., Howell Street Food Mart, Bill's Food Mart on 19th St.
